TASCAM analog card & 2 Dsub/TRS snakes $300 obo

Hi there, I have a Tascam IFAN/DM 8 analog I/O card for DM series digital mixers and the 2 Dsub to 1/4" TRS snakes to go with it. It will add 8 analog in and 8 analog out to your DM digital mixer. These were used for about 60 hours. Brand new before that. $300 obo shipped in the contiguous USA. No p...

I have the $999 trio, although I paid slightly more when they were on sale a while ago... The TS-2s just fucking rock. They are my desert island SDC for sure. The TS-1 is really neat, it sounds like itself and not much else... It's the opposite of a 4050 for me, not a swiss army mic at all. I find t...

1/4" TRS has a more "pointed" midrange while XLR tends to sound "Rounder"

......

But seriously folks, no audible advantage assuming it's ACTUALLY BALANCED. Often the 1/4 output is unbalanced which can be a real problem especially if you're interfacing with balanced gear.

I have the P33s, they're great. really honest and tons of headroom.

Don't pay retail if you can possibly avoid it, I tend to think they're a bit over-priced.

Don't fuck around with those roland keyboard amps. They're trash. Sound like trash and break all the time. ALL THE TIME!

The QSC powered guys are nice. Pricey too (for cheep skates anyway)

I picked up some of the original mackie srm450s for about $300 each, they sound fine but have their own issues.

You can edit the "Waveshell" files in a text editor like any .ini file etc....

I have no idea beyond that.

Don't screw around with usb if you're worried about latency. If your software is reporting 40ms than your actual latency is probably more like 50-60ms when you factor in MIDI input latency and processing. There's a very long thread on the reaper forums about real latency time vs what your software r...

I'm happy with the presonus firebox... and it runs on bus power so you can run on batteries if you need to.

I've never experienced a USB interface with decent low latency performance. Some of the most recent interfaces actually use USB 2.0 but that has it's own issues. If you really need low latency through your DAW software than you'll need to upgrade your interface. I would look at RME, Metric Halo etc....
