Ugh why does everyone want a piece of the artist's pie though...30% for iTunes, an additional 15% for a service that puts your music on iTunes... Looks about the same everywhere. It is more or less the same type of deal (whether upfront or commission) you would see from a record label/distribution....

So what do you think of their service? Been looking around, but everything looks about the same.

$179 sounds about right. Consider how much you make per stream.

Rhapsody - 1 cent per song
Napster - 2 cents per song
Myspace Music - .0004 cents per song
Wherever else maybe 1 cent.

When did TuneCore album renewal get cranked to $49.99 per year?

Normalizing? Why add extra steps? Also why would you want all audio at the same level? That's not how a mix will sound. You should also realize that recording at 24 bit you don't need audio at a perceived best point. You can get away with being -36 db or -24 db or -18 db.

So you have uncompressed stuff for 6 songs then 2 lost songs? I guess you probably could use mp3s mastering. What quality are they? 320 or higher? If you do it, make sure to inform your mastering engineer. I don't do mastering so I'm not sure what problems might be run into. I imagine it will be har...

What I don't get and it might just be how I work is why are you doing what you are doing? Why do you need to see the waveform better? Use your ears. I hardly look at waveforms unless I clip something. How much are you editing? Practice takes, so there is minimal editing. Also before ever recording, ...

Audiences more rude? No. Bob Dylan was booed for going electric all through that tour. You couldn't hear Elvis or the Beatles with the screaming girls. I have the Beatles live at the Hollywood Bowl LP and it is just hard to listen to because it is just screaming. What's always interesting to me is I...

?

The regular stereo sounded more like a fly flying around my head than the 3d.

Doesn't Bose already do this?

Working it for hearing aids seems to be the most practical.

Is it really selling out when you need to make money? Somehow Radiohead sold out with their first album. Which at the time was the sound of Radiohead. By their logic Bob Dylan should be on the list for writing Like A Rolling Stone since it was the first time he got interested in writing something fo...

Unless you're already famous, NOBODY wants to hear 80 minutes of your music on one album. Not even your mom. And, probably not even if you are already famous. I think that 30 to 40 minutes is a perfect length for a full-length album. I agree with that. Anymore, even 40 minutes is pushing it for me....

If you go the route of building your own PC; triple check everything. Once you start thinking about what you might want, go to newegg.com and look what they have. Start by looking at towers. Some will include a power supply, some won't. Same with cooling fans. Then start looking at motherboards. Whe...

What kind of worthlessness? Your telling me you can't take out a usb drive and put firewire card in its place? In a laptop? Pray tell me how you'd remove the "USB drive" and replace it with a "firewire card." I see it doesn't have an expansion slot, but it seems like you would be able to take out t...

You can buy a firewire card and install it in your laptop. No. No. No. A MacBook is not customizable. Ok, Cody, time to send us all here a picture of the connectors on your laptop. All this speculation.... is leading nowhere... What kind of worthlessness? Your telling me you can't take out a usb dr...
