Basic setup at my studio is: toft atb16 003 console rosetta 800 For the moment we are going to stick with what we've got. I'm super excited about expanding our track count from 16. However, I haven't figured out yet how to do it without either completely changing our cue system or spending a load on...

32 In and Out simultaneous with PT 9. You don't have to buy the toolkit for it. I record up to 24 tracks (full band sessions) while simultaneously using 14 outputs (six stereo headphone mixes for the musicians + stereo mains). That's 38 i/o channels at once. Think your math is a little fuzzy. With 2...

here's a thought. PT9 up and running now. it sees my 002r and my line6 UX2 but only one at a time. is there a way to get it to use the inputs of UX2 at the same time as my 002r? Looks like the closest it gets is being able to combine the 002r I/O and the computers built-in I/O using the "Pro Tools ...

Looking for a tech internship in Nashville ...
I'm a hard-working guy with some basic tech experience including soldering, cable assembly, and installation. I learn quickly and am in it for the practical electronics experience though I won't turn down a pay-check if it's offered. To contact me e-mail jziggy314@google.com or call 615-750-3208 and...

So i ended up purchasing a caps, resistors, and fet kit from Bill Sitler . All of that went in without a hitch. Removed one layer of the mesh on the basket. I've dampened the body. However, I managed to puncture the diaphragm while removing a stubborn screw on the the high-frequency traps. So. Shoul...

The "usual" royalty? How many people on here are making royalty deals for engineering? I'm genuinely curious, how often does that happen? I agree with roscoenyc's suggestion to get one tune mastered as a comparison piece and try to sell them on it that way. I should have stated royalties that are n...

Thanks so much for the all the responses. They were all very helpful though I feel I need to clarify. I did cut my engineering rates on a handshake promise to "weigh heavily my opinions on mastering". Not a direct quote but close enough. Probably not legally binding but that is the risk I took. And ...

How can I convince a band to hire professional mastering?
So I know many out there believe that mastering is now something that can be done at home but I am not one of them. First I explained all of the things that a true mastering job should entail including EQ/Compression (if and when needed), sample/bit rate reduction, sequencing, PQ editing, ISRC # cod...

The Cornbred Blues Band-rough mix-Wayfarin' Stranger
This is a rough mix of the band playing the traditional Wayfarin' Stranger. This will be a cut on their debut album and I'd really love some comments. Thanks.

Re: Glyn Johns mic placement for live recording. Good or Bad
You can submix mics b4 you hit the converters. Sarcasm aside, submixing is a foregone conclusion but seeing as the question was about the Glyn Johns setup I found the issue of submixing off topic but lets talk about it. Instrumentation: Drum kit Bass Guitar Woodwind (baritone sax, tenor sax, alto sax...

Glyn Johns mic placement for live recording. Good or Bad?
It occured to me that the Glyn Johns setup for drums could be useful for live recordings. I have never used the method but it seems that due to the close proximity of the side and center mics to the kit bleed would be minimized or at least masked to a significant degree. I use a 002 sampling at 88.2...
