i've been in the same boat as you for the last couple years. finding a good recording space is very difficult. the problem is, the places where you are allowed to make noise, like rehearsal studios, are too noisy for recording. and the places that are quiet, you can't make any noise. and rents in ny...

yes, i should probably be more specific. i realize there are plenty of cheapo mixers out there, but none of them exactly fit all of my needs. each channel is stereo, and the first channel needs to have mic preamps. the second channel is line level in, like an ipod. and i want the box to be very simp...

Wanted to Hire:Circuit designer for very small audio project
I have a very simple project that I'd like to hire some help for, I'd do it myself but I'm slow with this stuff and don't have the time right now. Should be a piece of cake for the experienced. The project is basically a 2 channel audio mixer with a couple controls like pan, volume, etc per channel....

The space would be about 12x30, the rent would be $1,500 total. I'd be willing to go in 50/50 with someone. here is the gear i would bring into the setup. http...

i've been using my Macbook Pro (2ghz, 2gb ram) for that last year with Logic as my primary DAW. it's been very smooth so far. i'm using an external LaCie hard drive connected through the Firepod firewire jack. i haven't done any songs with crazy track counts, but so far so good. i have noticed that ...

i actually like nero quite a bit, i've been using it for a long time. what version do you have? mine is 6.3. you should be able to kill all those start up items. sometimes there is an option to turn them off in their preferences. if that doesn't work, type msconfig in the run box, and kill all the s...

i actually did a focus group for this show a couple weeks ago. i told them i liked it :D i think the show is really cool, a really cool premise where you can see people playing actual music live. the performance are intimate, it sounds killer, and gave me new appreciation for artists i didn't really...

also to consider, the context of the recording is very important, especially if you are tracking the bass in a live situation with other players in the room. because the surface area of the bass face is so big, it reflects everything happening in front of it, so the bass mic is going to have a lot o...
