For Trade: Tape Op back issues

Looking to trade my back issues of Tape Op. These probably go back to as far as 2004. Not sure. Certainly not complete, there will be missing issues. But it is a lot of magazines. You can have the holders as well. Must be able to pick up in Maplewood NJ. What do I want in exchange? Honestly no idea,...

Re: alesis wedge power supply problem?

I have a 20 year old Wedge buried in a box in the garage somewhere. This makes me want to pull it out.

Get a small format mixing console. That is what they are for.
I've had several consoles in the past. I'm in a smaller space now, and looking to have everything in racks, and want easier recall. I don't need mic pres, eq's, faders, panning. Just 8 stereo channels with an aux/cue send per channel.

Re: Summing mixer with aux sends

I'm a bit confused with the passive thing. That Tascam isn't passive. The Neve doesn't look to be either. Maybe you're looking for a line mixer (ie: a mixer with no pre-amps or with inputs switchable between pre and line)? If that's the case , there are lots of high quality, small format mixer out ...

Summing mixer with aux sends

I'm using a passive 16 channel summing mixer for my mixscoming out of Logic. A big part of wanting to do outboard summing is to use my analog spring reverb unit. I have setup a pair of sends in the DAW to send to the reverb, and that works fine, but what I'm missing is the ability to send to the rev...

seventh circle pre's

Hello - i have a pair of N72's in the original chasis - it is pretty old, maybe around 2002 or so, so everything is "version 1". It was assembled and tested by Tim Ryan himself, so the build is flawless, and still works perfectly.

interested? offer?

I'm glad it worked out for you. I feel like you should have done behind the kneewalls too while you were at it, but anything helps. Since heat rises, your attic will probably be the toastiest room in the house, if the foam is doing its job.

Yes, will do the next time I'm in there.

That there is a vintage beer spill stain. That's worth good money now.

amp stand

Not exactly gear, but DIY. I made a pair of these amp stands for a new room we working on. Materials are a $20 Home Depot moving dolly and 2 2x4's. The whole thing cost under $30 and takes about an hour to make. It is basically one size fits all, up to 26" wide, and has storage for a pedal board und...

Re: do the right thing

So... I've made a change to the plan... we're adding the spray foam to the attic roof. contracting with a local company today ??they should be spraying a couple inches of foam into my attic bays. Thankfully, we hadn't finished the top walls yet... so I ca pull-out the mineral wool / let them spray ...

The Tascam 488mkII is the first, and only, multitrack tape machine I owned, so I don't have point of comparison, and my opinion is also tinted with nostalgia, but I love that machine. You can make is sound really good or really bad (but still good).

Best way to speed up a mix without altering pitch?

I got a song which is already mixed down, but I think I prefer it just a little bit faster than it was recorded. I record in Logic X, so I imported the stereo mixdown into a new logic project, and played around with the varispeed tool. When increasing speed+pitch, it sounds great. But I don't want t...

If it is not too late (and even if it is), I would strongly suggest looking into spray foaming the attic, at least the roof in between the rafters, but also the walls if you can. I live in a similar climate - North Jersey, and got our attic spray foamed, and man is it a difference maker. The thermal...

I have the Avantone CK-40, I love it, use it every session as the room mic, and also as the main piano mic. No noise.
