Thanx for the response, I am leaning toward the mackie onyx, my basic question is, can I have the xlr jacks plugged while tracking , while the 1/4" lines are plugged in also. this way I could bring out tracks from the daw without having to repatch. I believe on higher end boards, there is some type ...

Hello All, I am soon to be upgrading from a behringer 2442 which currently has 3 dead channels. I also have a motu ultralite and 8pre. actually, very well. (knocks on wood while tossing salt over shoulder) I have heard that on a powerbook that if the firewire busses are both in use that it drags the 800 port down to 400 as it is a shared port. just wondering if I could get a little more mileage. thanx for the reply. Rand

has the mac version been released yet? I'm currently using Live on a 1.67 powerbook and it's killing my cpu. I need higher track counts than i'm getting with Live and the windows version I downloaded seemed very capable. Rand

Broken sm57

Hello All, I have a 57 that took a drop to the floor and now has a constant buzzy sound. I contacted shure and they quoted 55$ plus s/h. I took off the capsule hoping to see something as simple as a wire off, but they were intact. Any insight as to what to look for next? At this point,, I wouldn't c...
