I picked up a Tascam 388 about two years ago while in the Chicago area. Bought it off of ebay. Actually comes with a custom made case and is near mint cosmetically. I am not sure what these sounded like new, so I can't speak to the audio aspect of it, other than all channels seem to function properl...
