You should also consider isolating your ground to the audio juice.

Re: To EQ or not EQ?
I dunno, my "boost 4k on every track by at least 30 dB" trick wouldn't be possible unless I EQ'd to tape... ![Shocked ](./images/smilies/icon_eek.gif)

Re: how do i put mp3 clips on my website?
Well, in straight HTML, it's easy enough to do something like this:
(assuming you have the music.mp3 file in the appropriate folder)
But my html is waaaaaay rusty.
(assuming you have the music.mp3 file in the appropriate folder)
Code: Select all
<a href="audio/music.mp3">Here's a link to download my mp3.</a>

Re: This NS-10 thing has gotten Outta Hand
Consider the Yamaha MSP 5's/ 10's... Small, powered, sound decent but not great. Cheap & decent enough to be standards. I've religously taken my pair everywhere I go.

It would be cool to hook his hand up to a little lever so when kids come up, you can lower it until they're *just* a bit too tall... ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

Re: tips for making a mix to be mastered?
I disagree. It's impossible to mix unless you are mixing to the 2 bus processing you intend to use. The separation of mixing and mastering is a throw back to older times - a process in desperate need of updating, considering the technologies currently available... Regardless of the title of the tra...

Re: tips for making a mix to be mastered?
Well, I'm not a "real" mastering engineer (insofar as I also offer tracking & mixing), but I do offer the service. My biggest pet peeve is when people don't have simple things- like a song sequence- figured out. Grrrrrr. Stupid edits (naw, can't we just take out that late kick at mastering?). Clippe...

Re: Redco Audio's service totally sucks!!
Put me down on the "pro-RedCo" list. Called 'em up, asked some questions, and had my every whim catered to. The sales rep (Dave B. I think) even struck up some friendly conversation about how much Dave (Soundguy) smelled SOOOOOOO bad... (j/k!) Anyway, every employer will accidentally hire a bad appl...

Audix D6 (as well as other D series mics)
D1-D4: a nice set of conveniently sized mics designed for drum use. Work fantastic in live environments, and average (at very worst) results in the studio. Having used them exclusively on drums (except a D4 on vocals: nice, but not the one), I'd have to say that the worst part about them is the drum...

If you're reeeeeealy interrested (or even if you're not), I very highly recommend Ken Pohlman's The Principals of Digital Audio. Great book. Also, you can ask for your BLER reports from the mfg plant. They're quite revealing.

Re: 24 bit Soundcard on a budget Recommendations
You're proabably safe with just about anything... I've had great results from Echo's stuff (with a little tweaking). Find a card that fits your needs that's supported by your audio software.
