Topic: Dislike of HFR film/HD TV corresponds to vinyl preference??

I seriously thought I was the only one who felt this way about HD tv's. Which is weird, because I'm not a vinyl guy. Heck, I have very few problems with mp3's if they're 160 kbps or higher. But most of my listening is in less-than-ideal settings; if I was sitting in a control room listening to 2" ta...

Don't buy the $99 version of SoundSoap, even if you can find it used for $5. I made that mistake once, and I found it almost completely useless. I say "almost" because there's always that small chance that one day I'm going to want to make something sound like a cheap cassette that was dredged from ...

I wouldn't read too much into not hearing back in a few days. There's a possibility that he's shopping around, and why wouldn't he? If you were the first call, it only makes sense to make sure your price is correct. There's also the possibility that there is somebody else in the organization who nee...

Heed every single bit of advice you've received here. You show me somebody who agreed to do some work for free "to build their chops," and I'll show you somebody who's later annoyed by the expectations the non-paying client has. If you really can't get past the idea of doing something for free, at l...

It's a coincidence that this question should be asked, as I've been filling in for a friend who mixes three church services every weekend. While I've mixed gospel/worship in a larger setting before, the experience of working on their home turf is a little different. I agree with pretty much everythi...

First, a bit of disclosure: I don't do the type of work you do. I do some live mobile recording and I deal with small commercial work. I've certainly had slow payers in the business to business world, but never anyone threatening me. Now an observation: I'm a little surprised nobody has commented ye...

Yeah, I missed the point as well. Now I feel kind of cheated, like I just saw a movie and at the end it was all a dream.

While it may not be necessary if you're only interested in getting your Logic house in order, I am a Lynda.com subscriber. I love it, use it all the time, and it has been more than worth the $300 a year in time and hassle saved with probably a dozen different software titles. I can't recommend it en...

1a. I sincerely apologize. In the future I'll be sure to note that any girlfriends you have are obviously hypothetical and/or imaginary. 1b.-3. Whatever. Enjoy your Monte Cristo. Although why you're lighting your sandwich on fire is a mystery to me. I'll hang out a decade or two, then come back here...

don't make excuses for a**h***s. it's like the douche bag of the band sleeping with your girlfriend, and excusing himself because you're not married. the moral of the story, i suppose, is that assholes do not deserve a second chance, ever. re: mindfulness therapy- this is exactly the kind of advice...

15 years! 1997! Before Windows 98, the Digidesign 001, the BlackBerry, Y2k, Napster, 9/11, two George W. Bush Presidential terms, and iPods. And I've stopped at 2003. Dude, it's a fucking microphone! When you're finished recording the track, are you able to go into the hypereditor and see what you've done?

If so, then make sure the channel is in "Read" mode, and everything you've done should affect the parameters you're looking to affect.

I hate to be Captain Bringdown, but there's no way you're going to get anything usable as a VO demo out of a recording session at a table in Wendy's.

I do a bit of VO work; mostly online learning or internal training type stuff. I also record and edit podcasts and video pieces for trade magazines that they sell as sponsored content. So I'm definitely nowhere near dwlb in terms of the budgets and end user audience size of things, but still, there'...
