What is the typical signal chain for tracking hardware synths? Direct box to preamp to channel to tape? This seems logical but somewhere along the line I was advised against this. The synths I am talking about are the Oberhiem Matrix 6r, Yamaha TX 7 etc... Any suggestions would be appreciated. thanks
