There was a guy video taping the "Mastering in the Box" panel that I was on. I talked to him after and he told me his son has a home studio and attended the '06 con. He cam along this year and would tape one panel while his son attended nother that way he was getting to see twice as many. And you k...

Hey Hey! Yeh... Absolutely impossible to attend every panel I wanted, visit every booth I wanted, get to know the people I wanted... But I did manage to catch almost every band and definitely found a few to look further into. Next year I'm just going to make up a hot tub schedule for the wee hours o...

DigiMax FS vs original DigiMax (48k)
Hey Hey! I just picked up a DigiMax FS and at the same time found an original DigiMax (48k) used. Of course I can keep (and don't really need) both. Of course this is to add 8 more Pres/inputs to my 002R system, and hopefully it's a better clock than the 002R. On the DigiMax (48k), besides the extra...

AKG SE 5E-10/CE1
Hey Hey! I might have a line on a pair of AKG SE 5E-10s with CE1 capsules. One of the bodies has a problem and I'd need to repair it. I'm guessing it's worth it, but does anyone have any experience with these? What would you compare them to? Are they in the same league as 451s? Would they make good ...

Overheads/Stereo Reference Pair
Hey Hey!
I want to pick up a nice matched pair for both Stereo Reference (Live recording of classical and at front of house in rock/jazz/world) and Drum Overheads/Room Mics.
I'm thinking KM 184s. But what might be some good alternatives?
Thanks,
Archmart

DigiMax96k, Onyx800R, or OctoPre?
Hey Hey! Reccommend me 8 pres? I want to pick up 8 channels that are considerably nicer than my 002Rs to connect via lightpipe. I of course would tend toward clean as opposed to too much color, but certainly would be happy with some tight warmth and musicality over just plain sterility. I plan on ta...

I need a van...
Hey Hey! Pushing the definition of gear a bit, but hey, can't use my remote recording rig if I can't get to the gig... Doing a short tour on the West coast and need to rent a 15 passenger van (I think these days they pretty much call them 12 passenger vans for some reason) one way from LA to Eugene ...

Will Trade Dual 1.8 G5 PCI-X for similar with PCI (Chicago)
Hey Hey! I've got a Dual 1.8 G5 with 1.5GB of RAM and with PCI-X slots. I'm looking for similar but with PCI slots. Ideally I'd trade for a Dual 2.0 with 512MB of RAM or add cash if it's got extras such as more RAM. I would want to swap Hard Drives, putting my drive in your G5 and vice-versa. (easie...
