I recorded many many records on ADAT machines (3 sync'd together) and never had a bit of trouble. Never! I took care of the machines, kept them clean, and only used top quality tape. They sounded way better that 4 track cassettes. Really... I've moved on but I gotta say I used them every day for nea...

I sent my group-buy ACMP preamp to Steve Hogan along with $100 and got ripped off. I've sent countless emails and left many phone messeges and all I've gotten back has been promises and lies. He talked the good talk on the forums. I wonder how many other people he stole from. Sorry, just venting....

How about re-aquiring.... 7 years ago my home was robbed of 5 guitars, plus many other things. The Seattle police were of no help and made it clear that they weren't interested in conducting any sort of investigation whatsoever. I made my own search of pawnshops, music stores, etc. The guitars stole...

Thanks for all your insight.

Does anyone have any experience with Jensen Alnicos (p12n) in an Ac30?

Speakers in Vox AC30

I have a newer Voc AC30cc2. I play an ES335, Strat, Tele and Dano 56u2 through it. I record original stuff in my studio but play in a side band doing very accurate covers of Cream, Led Zep, hendrix and other big guitar stuff from the late 60's/early 70s. I am learning to like the AC30. It has the st...

Mackies are pretty dependable but they sound just like what they are...plactic boxes with speakers in them. Admit it, they don't sound very real. The best sounding powered speaker out there is the JBL PRX515. It is in an entirely different league than the rest. I do pro sound as a living and am able...

If I could just jump into my Wayback machine I would go back and have her record "Instant Karma".

I think Sister Irene and I would be millionaires today.

Yamaha LS-9 is, hands down, best theatrical mixer out there. Very reasonably priced. I've been an audio theatre tech for 20 years and used all sorts of consoles. This one will be around for a while. Great routing capabilities, onboard effects, compressors, etc. Very intuitive to use. A great many of...

Send a belt sander out with the guitar when it goes on tour. That will help speed up the "aging" process.

I think reliced guitars come from the same kind of mentality that buys into "vintage" styled audio gear that has a unnecessary tube jammed into the signal path just for the sake of having a tube. Old is better. Old without having to wait for it to get old is even better. Old, right now, for cheap is...

Reliced guitars?

What's up with reliced guitars. Most of the ones I've seen don't really look old. They look exactly like someone took a belt sander to perfectly good guitar. I would be embarrassed to be seen in public playing one of these. When I see one, it says to me that someone is maybe working ta little oo har...

Channel order during Playback on Cubase/RME

I have been recording to an Alesis HD 24. My wife bought me Cubase 4 to use for editing. I have a Digi 9652 RME soundcard. I set up my input/output busses busses in Cubase on the VST mixer and dumped my tracks via three lightpipe cables. No Problems. When I play the tracks from cubase back through t...

Er, HELLO...What about Grand Funk Live Album....That's right...I said it..Grand Freakin' Funk..... Haven't listened to it in 35 years but it was some of the first stuff I ever tried to play in my first band. When I learned the riff to "Inside Lookin' Out" I knew I had found my life's direction. .......
