Re: Pacific Pro Audio Ribbon Mic SCARE
Despite the pissed off attitude of a couple of you, I really wasn't trying to cause problems for what I hope to be a great deal for all of us interested in these ribbons. I was simply genuinely concerned after receiving emails from people that I know in this industry who were a bit skeptical about t...

Pacific Pro Audio Ribbon Mic SCARE
Hey All, I, like 150+ of you, am extremely anxious to get a hold of a good deal on a quality pair of ribbons. However, I just got an email from several recordists who believe that this entire deal is a SCAM. Creating some doubt in my mind and the mind of others. The gist of the email is that Garth (...

Re: Clicks between tracks in Windows Media Player
Well Adam, thanks for your help nonetheless. As I type this, I've downloaded itunes for windows and am burning the disk once again to see if this fixes my weird issues. I was stunned myself when I heard the "slow down".
Thanks again!
Brett

Re: Clicks between tracks in Windows Media Player
Thanks Adam for the thoughts, Let me answer your questions before proceeding: I'm running XP Home with PT 6.1 and Media Player 9, I believe. I was a little leary about updating to PT 6.7...or actually I think I've got a free 6.4 upgrade, simply because I had 30 songs or so that hadn't been completed...

Clicks between tracks in Windows Media Player
I just tried to burn 13 tracks from ProTools LE onto a disk using Windows Media Player and I get a nasty audible click at the end of each track before the next track begins. Does anyone have an idea of how this can be remedied? I mixed all of the songs down to 16 bit, 44.1 hz. The songs themselves s...

Maximizing Reason/ReWire with ProTools
How are most of you using Rewire with Protools? Are you creating complete loops/songs and importing them as audio bypassing Rewire altogether? Or, are you bringing individual tracks in through Rewire? Is it best to simply bring a Rewire track in through an insert on an audio track, or is it better t...

Quality difference in EXTERNAL DRIVES?
I'm hunting for a good quality, cost-effective, external, firewire harddrive. Are there certain brands I should avoid? I know I need a 7200rpm drive, but does the brand truly matter?

Quick fix for Shure mics?
I've got 2 Shure Beta 58a's, one 58, and one 57 that all need repair. ( They were all being stored in a mic box that apparently got some moisture in it, I opened it up and there was some sort of furry mold growing in there, I cleaned them the best that I could, and these 4 no longer work!) S...

Re: do i need to partition?
I just picked up a new G4 with a 120gig hard drive and it is going to be used as a dedicated 002 machine. Eventually I plan to add an external drive for portability, but I want to still use some of that 120gigs. Should I go on and partition? If so, should 40 gigs be plenty for the computer and 80 fo...
