FS/FT: Dell PC, Tascam DP-01FX, burner, AND WTB: Mbox 2
So, few things for sale to try to help fund my recent laptop purchase. Make an offer. Also, I'm looking for an MBox 2, so I'd accept trades or just let me know if you're selling one. Tascam DP-01FX. This is a digital 8-track, with a 40GB harddrive built in, effects, 2 simultaneous inputs (both XLR o...

New laptop. The 1st step towards PT.
So I bit, and I've got a new laptop on the way. Dell Inspiron Core 2 Duo 1.83gHz, 2GB Ram, 120GB HD internal (external PPA HD to come soon too). Pretty stoked, should be a good setup. Now if I could only decide on my interface. Trying to weigh my actual use vs. possible future use. See, my tracking ...

so, after poking around the digidesign site for a while, here's what I came up with: " When using FireWire storage with a 003, 003 Rack, Digi 002, Digi 002 Rack, Mbox 2 Pro, or M-Audio FireWire system, connect the Pro Tools interface and the drives to separate FireWire ports if possible. If only one...

For Free*: Sony TC730 Reel to Reel. Needs repair.
(*you'll have to pay shipping) I've got a Sony TC-730 1/4" 2-track that turns on, but when you hit play, ff, rew, etc, nothing happens. I've got the service manual for it, but it's way over my technical knowledge, so if you've got it, it'd be a good buy. It's heavy as shit, so I'm sure shipping woul...

external FW drive questions
So I'm going to be switching over to a Dell laptop pretty soon, and after I get it, I'll eventually switchover to Protools as well. So I'm gonna need an external drive to backup all the files from my desktop when I get the new comp, and also, I want the drive for when I start recording onto my lapto...

Those are dope! Seriously. Kickass soldering iron, you WILL NOT regret it. I've been using one for years. I've also used a lower model Weller (w/o the adj.) and it's great as well, never had a problem with either, and they're easy to get replacement tips for, cause they're so common. Buy it and star...

I didn't go to school, but damn, I wish I could get a student loan just to use to pay my rent so I could leave my full time job and get in the studio more, or just record more at home. The classic catch-22 that is my life. I gotta work to pay the bills, and that chops into most of my avail. opportun...
