I'm a sparky by day. The biggest V's I've worked with is 4160V AC. Biggest amps was a 1000A service. I'm VERY VERY careful as some of the stuff I've worked on was live. 1/10 ampere across the heart will kill you. I've been blasted a number of times. Luckily the path to ground wasn't across my heart....

I agree with all regarding EV first five songs. Kind of still knocks me out sometimes. I'm wondering if anyone can point out any interview material re: recording those records. I haven't found much except a few calling them new "supergroup" from Canada. I really did like the production work o...

I saw the Go-Gos open for them in Minnesota during the Ghost in the Machine Tour. I loved/love the Police, but not that show. I'd never heard the Go-Gos and kept thinking they were playing the same songs over and over. Then I thought the police were boring (probably partially due to not really liki...

We've all got our demons we're dealing with, and sometimes our own personal "issues" need more attention than other peoples and you can't be there for other 24/7. That's the other thing. I mean I'm far from perfect and have my own issues just like everyone else. The difference being I try to not le...

Thanks everyone. I thought about it alot today and he's not just letting me down, he letting the whole band down with this. We're just going to have to sit down with him and lay it on the line in a kind and mellow manner. I like what all of you had to say and it helps put things in perspective for m...

Should I kill our drummer?

Bare with me please. We have developed somewhat of a "studio staff" band. It started out just throwing a set together for a party last summer and it took off from there. I've found I really enjoy playing again and not just knob twiddlin'. Problem is this. The drummer has become impossible to work wi...

Finally!

It took a while but I got my first issue last week. Well worth the wait. No.57 was excellent reading and it's so nice to see a recording mag that's not just a big fat advertising campaign. Can't wait for the next issue. You guys are awesome and keep up the great work!

Funny because I was just playing around with Jamie Laboz's idea from the last issue. Except I Y'd the signal to a 72 Twin Reverb and through a Crate VT5 with a BlueTube pedal in front. The crate is a little 5W tube amp and I had it pushed pretty hard on the post end with the pedal doing most of the ...

Nothing like a good winky wink to set someone off balance.
