Book recommendation

A free .pdf of a pretty great book I just discovered http://www.boingboing.net/2010/08/30/shiners-glimpses-bac.html time travel, rock n' roll, recording, 'nuff said. After reading this, Lewis Shiner has a fan for life right here. Also posting his other works for free, gotta love it. http://www.ficti...

Phill Brown book

Awesome! This will be prominent on the XMas list this year, but if it actually comes out in the Fall I will not be waiting to order this - always loved these pieces in TapeOp... From the Tape Log: Some may remember us running excerpts from Phill Brown's book, Are We Still Rolling?, many years ago. W...

Help with a 4 track

Does anyone happen to know which cassette 4-tracks have the ability to bounce out all 4 tracks individually at once? I?m pretty sure some of them do this, but basically I want to get some songs down on the 4 track, then bounce all 4 as their own tracks ITB, and continue recording/mixing there. I kno...

I used to work with Matt a few years back.

Maybe I'll try and come by next time you guys are playing around, introduce myself, I usually check out the bands playing at the Great Notch on my way to work.

I might hit you up sometime after the new year. We are actually pretty close in proximity, I'm currently in Bloomfield. I actually used to work with one of Enzo's Bakers. I'd like to check out your place one day. Anyway, I'm slowly working on an EP project with a buddy, and I was going to just tackl...

Re: need an idea scratch pad for the coffee shop

I recently bought the korg nano series controllers, so that I can get a riff out of my head if I'm sitting in a coffee shop... or in a park, on a bus, etc.. Just out of curiosity, what software would you use? I was thinking of something similar but don't have really any experience with soft-synths....

Tape and Wire - Sleep!

Some friends and I did this earlier in 07, but I'm just getting around to putting it up. This was our spare time project to practice once a week and just not worry about anything besides having fun. I was learning the drums at the time, so I tend to not like how I played, but otherwise it's one of t...

My few experiences were with United and have no complaints. We had the art printed elsewhere. Check out their seasonal deals, they're usually pretty good, like they'll do Red vinyl cheaper during Valentines Day, I think they did Green and Yellow mix for spring last year. I know people who have dealt...
