I have a Epi LP Custom SG with gold hardware....3 humbuckers and it is GREAT! If Epiphone guitars were good enough for The Beatles, then they are good enough for me! I also own an early seventies Epi acoustic. Everyone that comes to the studio wonders how I'm so lucky at getting great guitars so che...

I just bought a 72 Fender Twin Reverb for $600 and it's incredible.

I actually prefer the silverface over a blackface because I like having the master volume, with it's push/pull pot for that extra little something.

2k - 4k is digitals worst enemy.

I usually pull down at least 3 db on guitars & vocals.

The rest is high pass action!

This the same type of setup I use. I got a Altec gaming speaker system from a thrift store for 10 bucks. What I do is open up the front - left and right speakers and snip one of the wires off of each speaker so only the sub will work. I control the on, off, and volume from my Mackie Hui. In conjunct...

I have two of these bad boys.

If you decide to do some mods on it, then please post what you did and the verdict.

Thanks

The AI3 has no preamps. Another cool thing is that you can use it to mix out of the box, because it also does D to A conversion! As does the ADA8000 as well. I've never used the A13, and I keep an eye out for them. Are the converters the same as an ADAT? Roger I really don't know if they are the sa...

I would try and find a used Alesis AI3. I couldn't afford an Apogee Rosetta 800, so I went this route and I'm getting great results. The AI3 has no preamps. Another cool thing is that you can use it to mix out of the box, because it also does D to A conversion! A used one will run you anywhere from ...

It's a cool song......

I have to stress to you once more that your vocals are too soft in the mix.

I think that's why the "Stereo Lies" thread is going strong, because you can actually make out some of what your singing.

I'm just keepin' it real!

By the way, my favorite is "Dahlia".

I can't really recommend any particular compressor. You need to go and test out some and find the one that sounds and works best for your application. With that said, I can tell you about the ADL. I have the mono 1000, and the only thing I will use it on is bass, acoustic, and vocals. The difference...

Here is my two cents worth...... You have a definite problem in the low end of the bass guitar. I have no way of knowing, but it's probably two issues. 1. There are bad overtones in the 100 to 160 range that need to be dealt with. 2. It sounds like there's to much compression on it and it's pumping ...

Boogdish wrote:$50! You lucky bastard! Did it come with a manual? I've had mine for 2 years and I've never seen a manual, I'm making good recordings IMHO, but I feel like I"m missing out on a lot since I use MIDI a lot.
I've got the manual !!!!!

I sent you a PM.
