Re: Latest gear you've acquired.....

I gotta site where a small number of international/foreigner friends post (currently Scotland, England, and Texas). Technically, we Texans are not yet international or foreigners. But someone is always talking seccession, so who knows what's in store... Well, to somebody we're all foreigners! As a ...

Re: Latest gear you've acquired.....

Another returner here! My latest acquisition is a WORKING display for my Juno G , which apparently people other than Roland are now manufacturing on their own. Mine's the same size as the original, is backlit, and works absolutely perfectly. If anyone else needs to fix theirs, i got mine at Instrume...

Re: Could Forums Like This Make a Comeback?

I too prefer forums, but also curious if anyone here is on any interesting recording/mixing Discord servers? I'm on a few although i really only use the Unofficial Reaper Users Group , being that it's specific to my preferred DAW. It's pretty lively and has many very useful channels for things like ...

Great sounds on this record. This is right up my alley. Reminds me of some of the best stuff from the old Enigma and Slash labels. Nice work! Love the drums and bass especially.

Sorry for the lateness, but this news hit me like a ton of bricks when it happened. I got really into Dan Hicks a couple of years ago. "I Scare Myself" is such a great song and recording, as are all his others. A true original.

This should be on a movie soundtrack. Maybe a sequel to A Life Aquatic. Great sound design. Very spring reverby, natch.

That's a cool recording. Nicely psychedelic. I also very much like the Sesame Street ensemble at 2:20. That's just CRAZY and weird. You should do this sort of thing much more often. It's pretty fantastic.

Holy crap, that's cool! I like the sludgy versions best, but that's just my taste. Sounds really great though - nice and clear mix. Songs translate strangely well across versions.

(this is Fall '91.) he's great, totally kooky. one night we weer standing around drinking by a fire, doing whip-its (little nitrous oxide canisters, pretty harmless and the same thing dentists used to us), and he comes driving past in his truck. he stopped, turned arou...

one of my favorite bands (besides GBV) is from here Lab Partners. and Maëry Lanahan is incredible too.

i'm just a homebody, so i don't hang around the local studios. they wouldn't have me anyway, it's been nearly 15 years now since i went to TRW. i'm happy doing my own thing.
