I feel compelled to add that I actually had to look up that godawful tune 'Kingdom Come' by ID. That melody, that 'Axis of Awesome' four chord progression. It made me feel like Mulder in Episode 2 of the latest X Files. Amazing that something like a stupid pop song could make me rage like that.

Selling my Rickenbacker 360/12C63

just a heads up. it's on ebay, and it's going to sell, but I really want it to go to a good home. It's the circa '63 george harrison model. Not a scratch. Currently $1825.00. Some fools are trying to get $3800 for theirs. I like money too, but I'm not about screwing people over. I paid about $2500 i...

Biggest shock for me since MJ. I didn't know about his cancer. A couple of years ago, I saw Suzanne Vega playing with Gerry Leonard, who played guitar with Bowie sometimes. I recommend his Spooky Ghost albums. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BuihPkKr-gQ&list=PLNVfl_J74ghL4dnqiG-DpAn7GmtIV20oT&index=...

Well, I learned some stuff about tone today...I always thought fuzz was for a 'Satisfaction' type sound. Broke into the pedalboards in Logic and it turns out most lead guitar patches have tons of sustain aided by fuzz  Did I mention I'm a keys player? Whether Logic is as good as the real thing...

I'm hearing the sustain, almost like an ebow although I know that's not it. It has a singing quality, I dunno...am I overthinking it?

Can you guess how this guitar's tone was made?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HRErccWni-o Guitarist: Phil Miller Band: National Health Album: Of Queues and Cures The tone I'm wondering about is all over this wonderful album, but for my purposes here, check out 12:12 (an all too brief multitracked sustaining tour de force.) A mellower tune with ...

I ended up getting a line mixer brand new for $150. Thanks for your ideas Soon I'll post a picture of my new slimmed down music space...can't call it a studio since it's also the living room. By the time I started reading about clock speeds and sample rates and $900, and alls i wanted to do was be a...

Yeah, too bad about the clock; this is one area where I a)suspect the Behr will potentially suck, and b)think I am over complicating things and should just play through headphones or one keyboard at a time.

Needin' more input for my Apollo Twin Duo

This year has seen a lot of changes in my home getup. Most recently, I sold my Yamaha CP80 and bought a Prophet 08. With my Korg SV1, Ace Tone organ, and Waldorf Streichfett, that makes for three stereo and one mono input. Then there's the guitars, bass and vocal mic. Clearly, I could use a bigger A...

Monitoring multiple keyboards within a DAW

I have finally purchased a much newer computer and an Apollo Twin. I have three keyboards (Yamaha CP80, Korg SV-1 and Ace Tone organ) that I'd like to have hooked up at all times so that I can play and record without plugging in cables. Ideally I'd like to be able to experiment with various guitar p...

Thoughts on a concert

Just got back from seeing The War On Drugs at the Crystal Ballroom. I have to get up in less than six hours from now, so I'm going to make this short. WHY do sound guys crank the bass to the point where it starts to hit your ears like cannons? WHY are center fills for the front rows not standard? Th...
