FS: Korg Polysix for repair or parts

Korg Polysix for sale - If you don't know what it is, just Google the name and you'll see what a legend this six-voice analog polysynth is. When I purchased this synth, it had the infamous battery leakage issue. I actually had the central circuit board (KLM-367) replaced with a custom-built replica ...

I was just about to say. I own a D6 and never use it. Heil PR-40 all the way on kick. Cheaper than an RE-20 but with some similar characteristics, plus it's great on bass or guitar cabs, vocals, percussion, whatever. Yes, yes, yes. Dirk recommends.

Hey Brad - Cool track. I definitely agree with everyone who has suggested a deeper snare. Have you considered mic'ing the bottom of the snare? The drum sound gets a lot of 'pop' from the top skin, but not much 'snap' and 'crackle' from the snares. I also agree with those who have suggested that the ...

I must say I like the idea of tracking cymbals separately. One of my bandmates was working on a record at Chris Walla's studio earlier in the spring and said that they were planning on doing this to give them more control over the drum sound. As for Brad's 'underhead' idea, I think it's good not onl...

Anyone care to weigh in on ear candling/coning? I did it once a few years ago and it was great, but it seems the jury's still out among western medicine practitioners.

Another vote for the PR-40. It's great for kick, bass, vocals, and I've even used mine to record electric guitar with great success. Best mic I've bought.

The PR-40 does have a really solid low end, but it still sounds great when the lows are filtered off. You can use a HPF on your mic pre if it has one, or with an EQ at mix time. Again, I highly recommend this mic.

Yeah, the low end on the M1As is a little lumpy... I think it has a lot to do with the bass ports. I used to have a pair and I used them with the ports plugged for a while. They sounded way tighter, but the low end disappeared. In retrospect, it was a fine indication that the low end was dependent o...

Probably, since european power runs at 50 Hz.

not quite. If you're recording from the ADA8000 you'll need to slave the 001 to the ADA8000's clock via ADAT. You could have both clocks done, or just do the ADA8000 and have it always operating as clock master. I must admit, I'm curious to hear how this cheapo box sounds after BLA have gotten their...
