Lighter Cymbals
I have a whole set of lighter cymbals that I use for bashers. They aren't as loud, decay faster, etc. My cymbal issues are less about bleed into individual mics as issues with the room mics filling up with a wash. And like others I try to coach them into lightening up.

Re: studio colors..Your walls not your sounds
I purchased paint for mine studio, but have not managed to start painting (I expected a lull between projects, but it didn't come). I went for a orange brown tint, sort of like old heavy stock paper and then plan to add little brown specks. The idea was to warm up the space since it is a dark baseme...

Re: Kurzweil KSP8 Users? I have Questions
There is a brand new Yahoo group (the old one was abandonded due to overspaming): Kurzweil-KSP8@yahoogroups.com Check it out - you should get your answers! In general it is confusing and the manual makes my head hurt, but true stereo pairs should go in as - stereo pairs. You might want to check your...

Re: Some fucker stole my credit card number!!!
Thanks Swingdoc and everybody for the good advice! The card is actually a Visa ATM debit card. The bank says that the card was present for all of the fraudulent transactions. All charged in nearby cities. They went to Staples, Robinsons-May, a restaurant, and a bunch of gas stations. They "cloned" ...

Re: Lets talk "gay!"
So I'm way late in this, so I'm just gonna kick into random thought mode: 1) Why is Christian bashing acceptible? Well most of the bashers are folks that grew up Christian, so they feel allowed to criticize. That said, some of it seems unfair and inappropriate in the context of an open forum like th...

Fatar makes most of the weighted keys out there - probably for many of the models on your list. I've been happy with my Fatar for years and it was a lot cheaper...

Re: MIDI breath controller?
Look for anything with a breath controller input. Old DX7, Kurzweil XM1, as long as it transmits the CC to the MIDI out your all set. Of course you need to get the thing to blow into as well. Really not that many options, check out which used keyboards have the breath controller input. Have you pla...

MIDI breath controller?
I find myself using my melodica a lot, mainly because it allows me to combine my keyboard skills with the expressive control I had playing brass. I've looked at a few breath controllers (not the ones that emulate woodwinds since I don't know those fingerings anyhow), but they are all pretty pricey -...

Re: a SINGLE voice singing 2 note-chords
Trombonist Ray Anderson can sing a minor third - for whatever that is worth.
On an unrelated note, I used to be able to do the trick where you sort of sing a note while playing a different note on trombone. Not that hard to do by itself, but tricky to do musically...
