Free Excellent Studio Workbench & Gear Rack in SF
Sorry for the short notice post. I'm moving today and thought I'd be able to fit this workbench in my trailer. Unfortunately for me, it won't fit. Fortunately for you, it can be yours for free (if you're local and able to get here very quickly). This free bench is in the Mission District, San Franci...

FS: Sunn SPL 2212 Console
No, sorry about that. The board is worth between $100 and $400, depending on your room, the other hardware you use, the style of music you're producing, your geographic location, how handy you are with electronics, and other factors. Hope that helps. I'd put a firm price on it but I'd prefer that yo...

FS: Sunn SPL 2212 Console
http://www.deliveryispossible.com/art/gear/sunn/sunn_sp2212.jpg I like the sound of this board. It was a lot of fun to work with and I'll miss it when it's gone. I'm selling due to a pending relocation. The best thing about this tool is the sound. It feels a little thick, with a tubby low end, nice...

FS: Collection of Decent Quality Rack Gear w/ebay Links
Here's a long list of rack gear for sale. I'm in San Francisco. If you're in the bay area and want to check something out, please let me know. I use this board along with craigslist and ebay to research studio gear. I've made an effort to share what I know and I've tried to be completely candid abou...

Botnick interview
Another exceptional interview. Well done Larry and Mr. Botnick. LC: Listening to the drum balances on a lot of your early records, I wondered - were you putting up multiple mics? Three microphones, one track - one overhead, one under the snare and one on the kick, one buss and in some cases locked t...

cubase
Have you verified that the correct stormdrum .dll file(s) and/or subdirectory is in the directory that you use for vst's?
Have you checked the steinberg forum?

cubase sx3 midi
First make sure you've set up stormdrum as a VST Instrument. Then create a midi track, and point the midi out at stormdrum.

Repairing Klark Teknik DN500
One of the channels doesn't work on this dual compressor/limiter/expander. Removed both sides of the enclosure to reveal a very accessible and hopefully easy to repair main board. Found a broken connection at the point of a small cap (C204) that somehow was split into two. Can someone please confirm...

VST for increasing transient noise
Can anyone suggest a plugin(s) that can be used to create and/or increase hiss, crackle, and transient noise?
Thanks!
Jeff

anamod
I'm going anamod, hopefully this year. Strange to admit it but the biggest factor is that I enjoy running signals through hardware. Otherwise I'd probably invest in plugs and find a different way to make things sound good. Have looked seriously at Otari mx5050, Studer A810, and Vestax MR66. Decided ...

heat transfer at PSU board
If the hum becomes louder with use, it might be a heat issue. You can inspect where the PSU board is mounted to the chassis for adequate amounts of thermal joint compound. Do you see any white residue around the edges underneath the PSU board? If not, you might be able to add that yourself. While it...
