You see, my problem is that I am in love with the RME drivers and mixing/routing software (Totalmix). Does anyone know if the Madiextreme has a comparable component?

I'm thinking about "upgrading" from a RME Fireface 800 to an SSL Madiextreme with an Alphalink. I want to know if the Madiextreme has mixing/routing software or capabilities. I am not able to find this info on their website. If so, does anyone have a screenshot of the mixing/routing software? Thanks!

There's a contest on OKGO.net to remix their new song "White Knuckles." They have an album version of it and I think it sounds pretty terrible. It's overcompressed, squashed, noisy, etc... OK, So there's a million threads on how to mic drums. Here's my problem. How do you make a snare drum sound like a snare drum. MySpace is for children. Seriously! I'm a Network Administrator for a school district. I was able to easily block myspace using our www filtering network applicance. The kids are pissed. They can go to MySpace at home and ruin their lives. No need to do it at school.

I'm surprised that hardly anyone mentions Rode Mics. I love my NTK. I'm not comparing it to a Neumann or anything but it sounds pretty awesome.

I just wired mine up to a quarter inch plug and plugged it into a crappy preamp. Mixed with my D112 it sounds amazing. Check my avatar.

Is anyone able to compare Sony's 7506's to Grado's SR60's? I've always been interested in picking up a pair of Grados but I love my Sonys.
