Thanks, I will check it out.

I'm obviously looking at Firewire interfaces too, but so many of them have a lot of bells and whistles I don't need, it's hard to find something simple AND good! Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks again!

Audio interface question

I have a rather specific question about audio interface choices - I realise there are a lot of "what interface should i buy" questions here, but this query is quite niche so apologies for starting a new thread but i think it's necessary. I need an audio interface for my Mac, I only really record one...

Bob Johnston on recording Dylan in this month's Uncut

Hi, thought I'd alert you all - if you haven't already seen it - to an interesting sidebar in this month's Uncut cover feature on Dylan. There's a few paragraphs from Bob Johnston on recording Sad-Eyed Lady..., includes this intriguing nugget: "I'll tell you something else I did recording Dylan. Eve...

new album, please download, any thoughts appreciated

As a follow-up to my other email about my DIY artists blog, I thought I'd link to the album I've just completed. Free to download in its entirety at my website fakesensations.com . Any thoughts/advice appreciated. I played everything and produced it myself, DIY bedroom studio stylee. It's officially...

A career in music - a how-to DIY blog

Hi I know this isn't strictly the right place for this (although I'll add that if you want to check out my new album, it's available to download for free right now from Fakesensations.com :) - but didn't really know where else to put it. I just wanted to alert users of this board to my blog, A Song ...

heh heh, fair enough joel! seriously though, dylan didn't overdub his vocals did he? he was playing and singing away in the same room as kooper and the rest of 'em right? i know he'd have been isolated from them (i assume) but he'd still have been doing rhythm guitar while singing wouldn't he? maybe...

thanks for advice. i know what you mean professor but there are certain issues - i.e. my vocals aren't the greatest in the world so need some help in the mix, and any compression brings the guitar nosie up as well, obviously. i'd love to be able to just play with one mic, but i don't have the kind o...

Slightly odd mic advice needed

This may seem a bit strange, but at the moment I'm finding I get a better vocal performance when I'm playing guitar and singing at the same time - and I don't just mean acoustic, sometimes I'll play an electric DI'd, just so I'm strumming something. Now obviously I'm getting bleed into my vocal mic,...

ok. i understand the balanced/unbalanced thing. but as for the audiophile card..well the only lines that aren't being used are "coaxial s/pdif" in and out, one of each, and i'm buggered if i know what they're for.

routing soft synths into outboard then back into sequencer
