I was under the impression that your ears don't heal? right? damage is damage. Depends. Once inner ear hair cells are dead, there's no bringing them back. If they're just kinda stunned, they'll probably bounce back, although over time continued assualt's on one's hearing will cause permanent damage...

Re: Yeah, in his basement
I think that's a kick that the album, which was presented as a demo to the record company, was rejected even though it sounded great due to the fact that Tom Scholz recorded it himself in his project studio. I believe that all the band did was to dump the tracks that Tom had recorded onto a 24 trac...

Meniere's disease is a break down of the lining of the middle ear that allows a fluid buildup in the middle ear which causes tinnitus. Table salt is your enemy as it causes the body to retain water. I have it too. I watch my salt intake, drink lots of water & find it manageable. Meniere's is actual...

The setting is password protected so that I, for example, can set the max volume and theoretically my son would...

Sorry to hear that. As I read you post, two things came to mind. One, maybe in the future there'll be some new drug or procedure (inner ear transplant?) that can save your hearing. Two, as someone who has definitely been thinking about his hearing a lot after my recent episode, remember that Beetho...

Sorry to revive a bit of an old thread, but I want to encourage everyone to protect their hearing at whatever cost. About 3 yrs ago I woke up one morning almost completely deaf in my leaft ear. Within a couple weeks, my right ear was almost as deaf as well. Turns out I have Meniere's disease (not re...

Another plug for Badalamenti, Morricone, Elfman, etc. (so many great talents). However, I'm a complete sucker for anything from Thomas Newman. As mentioned by others previously: American Beauty, Shawshank Redemtion, Road to Perdition. I also love his score for the Horse Whisperer. The list goes on. ...
