Help! Recording in a warehouse today.
I just got an unexpected call to demo some songs for a fairly well-known band passing through town tonight. The space is your typical untreated 10x30 warehouse, with a thin carpeted floor. My first notion is to record as dry as possible due to the fact the warehouse is bound to sound awful, and thes...

FS/FT Echo Layla3G + other randomness
Lack of cash and an insatiable lust for new shit spurred this on. As noted, these are no longer in use. I will test anything for interested buyers! I would MUCH rather trade this stuff for mic(s) or pre(s) of any sort (i'm up for anything!) Just PM me! *Echo Layla 3G* -48v phantom power is out on ch...

Multi-Channel Mic Pres...arg!
I'm pretty broke right now, and really shouldn't be considering any of this business...but that's what we do, riiiight? Here's the "stitch": I pretty much abandoned recording due to school, new residence, etc. Sold some gear, kept some gear...blah. I'm interested in making a very portable rig just f...

yeah. if there's too much delay there's too much delay. compression's not gonna do what you want. why not just record another pass of nearly dry guitar playing the melodies and whatnot and blend that in with the too-effected tracks you have now? Yeah, I think this is going to be the only way. Eithe...

Mixing "heavily delayed" guitar?
I'm working on some mixes for my band. We recorded out of town and I'm really hoping not to retrack at my place. The sound I'm looking to get IS somewhat psychedelic and DREAMY. AKA - lead guitar going through the entire song with gobs of delay (400-500ms, 50/50 mix, feedback of about 10 repeats) Th...

WTB: Pair of Monitors or replacement ASAP
The woofer in one of my passive Event 20/20 monitors is shot. I just spent the last three days (and way too much money) tracking a record out of town. I'm now left with no way to finish overdubs and mixing at my house. Here is my plea: 1) Does anyone have a spare woofer or single passive 20/20 to se...

Alright...digital time. Maybe.
I've never messed around with any of the digital/adat/lightpipe,,blah blah features on my interface(s)... I have an Echo Layla 3G and a MOTU 828 MKII. Unfortunately, I've yet to buy a firewire card for my computer to use with the MOTU. Apparently, the A/D on the MOTU is better than the ECHO Layla, b...
