i know this thread is getting pretty old, but i just stumbled across it. I've had some amazing results using the 2 figure 8's. one near his mouth with the null pointing at the guitar and the other at the 12th fret about 3" away with the null pointing at the 12th fret and his mouth (perpendicular to ...

Live Tracking Tom Mics?
So I'm doing some work live tracking and am becoming more and more aware that the C408's that I'm using on the toms now just aren't that great. I'm hoping to get some feedback on some of the options I have for replacing them. The mics I'm looking at are: -Sennheiser e904 or e604 (haven't heard a lot...

I have a martin jc16 with the factory fishman prefix system in it and i LOVE it, but if I was putting a pickup in a new guitar I would either get the LR Baggs Element or the Mix system (ibeam and element) if you have the money. I absolutely love the sound of these on pretty much every acoustic I've ...

Yeah I had to have the serial number for it, and the fact that it was reported stolen and the police were the ones that found it helped. I guess pawn shops have to hold stuff for 2 weeks before they can put it up for sale (at least in michigan) in order for stolen merchandise to be found and to disc...

It's going to depend a ton on your budget, but the best thing that you can do is just play as many guitars as possible and buy whatever feels good in your hands. I'm personally a huge fan of Martins and would definitely recommend a 16 series. I had a J16 Rosewood with the Fishman pickup in it. I abs...

thanks for the input so far guys. I agree about the 16 series martins, something special.... i've heard amazing things about vintage guilds too, and pretty much any of them made before fender bought them and moved out of rhode island. (Denison Witmer swears by them) tony, you're the second person th...

Favorite Acoustic Guitar for Recording?
Hey guys, so my favorite acoustic was recently stolen and now I have the task of trying to replace it. I use it primarily in live applications with a full band, but I'm going to start using it more and more for recording and would love to know what your favorites are. I'll be doing a lot of fingerpi...

unidentified tube amp
I came upon this tube amp and i have no idea who it was made by or what it is made for. if anyone has any ideas it would be very much appreciated. the only words on it are "vacuum tube mono block amplifier" on the front, underneath the dB meter. On the back there is an input that looks like it's RCA...
