Actually, after peering inside a Genesis, it looks like somebody at MXL spent a lot of time trying to get it right. Some people think the Genesis is simply a rebadged MXL 960. Absolutely untrue. While the Genesis shares the outside metal work of the 960, the insides are completely different and appa...

Re: MXL V67G Review
Actually, I think Harvey single handedly gave credibility to the Marshall line, not to mention the RNC, Behringer ECM8000, etc. My local studio owner who recorded our last record gave credibility to the MXL line for me. Well, that leads to a question: Who turned your local studio owner on to the MX...

Re: MoreMe Headphones? under $10 bucks
I'm starting to regret posting here earlier. I didn't mean to step on any toes, I was just curious how our headphones measured up to a $35 pair used by professionals. Kerry, they don't measure up very well, mainly because of the damn built-in volume controls, which can't handle the levels used in a...

Re: MXL V67G Review
At the time (January, 2001), I did a review of all the MXL mics that were available.

Re: MoreMe Headphones? under $10 bucks
Some of the new posts at HR were getting to me, so I just decided to lurk there rather than post as usual. I almost responded to DJL's crack about buying SP mics is supporting China's nuclear weapons program, but I decided against it. I check here on a regular basis, but don't post too much. Hey Ha...

Re: MoreMe Headphones? under $10 bucks
Kerry, After reading my reply above, I'm sorry if I'm jumping down your throat on this. I've been down this road before and it doesn't go anywhere. The phones you sell with volume controls simply don't work well for most studios. I found that out the hard way. They aren't the same as the MoreMe's, a...

Re: MoreMe Headphones? under $10 bucks
Kerry, so you don't/ won't actually replace the phones yourself? If I'm reading this right: "While under a valid warranty period, damaged or defective products (purchased domestically) may be returned to the Califone Service Department with prior authorization for service and repair , free of charge...

Re: MoreMe Headphones? under $10 bucks
I'm just goin to say that even if I could get the same headphone for like $1, I'd still buy them from Harvey for the service. Nah, if he'll do the same stuff I do, hell, I'll buy from him. But every pair of headphones with volume controls I tried didn't survive a week in a studio environment. I've ...

Re: MoreMe Headphones? under $10 bucks
Dracon, If you'd like to do a side by side comparison of the Califone 3068AV and the MoreMe headphones you already have, I?d be happy to send you a pair free of charge... e-mail me your address if you?re interested. Kerry, that sounds like a great idea. Dracon, do it. But Kerry, to be absolutely fa...

Re: MXL V67G Review
I did a pretty widely quoted review of the MXL V67G back in January of 2001.dracon wrote:So, I'm surprised. No one else has an opinion one way or another about this mic? Wow! I agree with inverseroom I can't believe that this mic has not been reviewed previously.

Re: MoreMe Headphones? under $10 bucks
If they have the volume controls built in, avoid them like the plague - they won't last a week in most studios. A lot ocompanies in China seem to making almost exactly the same phones, but there are some differences. The main problems I had was finding dealers who actually stocked them, and getting ...

Re: Cheap Cans: MoreMe's or HD202's?
If you want isolation, they gotta fit pretty tight. You can loosen them by fucking with the wire earpiece holders.
