I've heard nothing but good things about this film. I am a Big Star fan too, but it's not in theaters anymore. Hopefully it will be on netfilx soon I really want to see it

Wow. Way cool. The more I listened, the more I liked it. Not about perfection, just an assemble of simple parts and retro-y riffs that work. Reading the lyrics of the tunes is what sold me. I like music that is different, and this is. I'd like to read more about your recording & mixing techniques. ...

haha! If Lester Bangs had even thought to comment about my music that would be amazing, let alone like it! That comment made my day! On the last song I used the "jazz organ" and "piano" from a yamaha p-90 keyboard. I put that through an old blackface fender showman and 2x15 cab to give it some warmt...

I liked "Science" best.

Cheat Sheets/No Comply EP recorded in 1 room to Tascam ms16

Hi Guys, This my band Cheat Sheets. I wrote, recorded, played guitar and sang on these. My friend Zoe played bass and my friend Darren played drums. We recorded this EP in a one room practice space to my Tascam MS16 1 inch tape machine. I used sytek preamps... I can go further into detail if anyone ...

great sounds. Looks like you have a tascam ms16 with the dbx noise reduction. Do you use the noise reduction or is there no choice to shut it off? I have a tascam ms16 running at 30 ips with no dbx noise reduction. I'm curious

"BigFoot" a song recorded on a tascam ms16

an original song recorded onto a tascam ms16 tape machine using sytek preamps, and a mackie 1604. It was not intended, but I am very pleased to get a Pavement - Slanted and Enchanted era crossed with some Beck - One Foot in the Grave sound. any thoughts from ya'll would be greatly appreciated. THank...

Re: Asbestos in my 1966 Fender 2x15 cab?? Help!

It has the original JBL speakers in it and makes any head sound 10 times better. 10 times better than what? :D actually, i'm sure it's a tremendous cab. Those are great speakers, but i suspect that Fender would not by design have put two different speakers in the same cabinet- more than likely one ...

Thanks for the replys. I just wanted to make sure, ya know. I thought asbestos might look like fiberglass back in the day. One last thing... I noticed the top speaker is a JBL D130F and my bottome speaker is a JBL D140F. This seems weird to me. The cab sounds amazing though. For micing purposes, the...

thanks. I appreciate your replys. I was kinda worried there for a little bit. Don't want to get the "BIG C" from a guitar cab. Maybe from smoking or nutrasweet, but not a guitar cab!

Why is the fiber glass all stacked up at the bottom? Would it improve the sound of the cab if I took the fiberglass and put it on each wall?...

Asbestos in my 1966 Fender 2x15 cab?? Help!

I was recently really lucky and found a 1966 fender 2x15 cab off craigslist. It has the original JBL speakers in it and makes any head sound 10 times better. After buying it, I opened it up again to take a closer look at the speakers and make sure the year I was told was correct. Everything checked ...

I've used them with Sytek preamps, as those things have a ridiculous amount of quiet gain. I may have also used them with a Buzz Audio MA2.2, as it's a very simliar preamp (but a little bigger-sounding), but I'd have to look at track sheets to know for sure. Chris Garges Charlotte, NC Thanks. I've ...
