i played the shit out of this record. i used to bring it along to listen for perspective i loved the sound so much. i always wondered how they got his voice to sound so big and then i saw him live and realized that that is what a lumberjack sounds like when he sings. have a bunch of others. love dev...

check out moon pix. i think it's her best overall. early stuff she was still finding her voice. i don't love every song on every record but the stark pno stuff is always compelling to me. seeing her live post booze was a revelation. she is a natural and we will be hearing from her as long as she is ...

Quote: i absolutley love cat power. i think she is one of the best singers of our generation. the last time i saw her solo i could not believe her voice/phrasing. timeless. Did you see the Austin City Limits where she sat in with The Flaming Lips ? I was impressed with how far off key she could sin...

prices vary according to model numbers mostly. all models are great. i have a 501 which is the last in the series. that model has balanced ins/outs and chorus. it is actually called a chorus echo. it comes in a rack mount version as well. i think it's the 555. i use mine constantly. almost every mix...

i once had a problem when i was doing beds. when i started the 24trk the drums would come out of the svt the bass was going thru. it was on playback as well so it wasn't pickup bleed. the studio had an old englisman as a tech who had been around since mono. every night i would leave and he would try...

FS-TRIDENT VFM 16/8/2 - $600

i'm selling a trident vfm i've got which doesn't see much use. i'm posting it here because i thought someone who owned one already may want a second or someone who knows these things can bring it up to speed. there are some issues. it needs fader caps. it doesn't have any for the buss faders and the...

DBX 161 broken. pls help.

hello all i just picked up a pair of 161's and one of the units is not functioning. it does turn on but suffers from what i've heard some refer to as motor boating. when monitoring the output it sends out clicks that then change speed if any of the front panel knobs are turned. it has a plus 20 db i...

i didn't mean to sound as though i hated all ME's. i work with a number whom i trust each has their own strength and depending on the project i go with the one that best suits. the most expensive ME is also the one who tends to leave things alone the most. i'm there to sequence/fade and level match....

i have giant issues with mastering and am rarely happy with the results. if i am not in attendance of or in ftp/email mode i will most likely throw out the job. i don't blame the mastering engineer i just don't believe that someone is going to hear something i've spent months on and really get it in...

bass gtr. when a bass has to compete and needs some punch but i don't want to hear the strings/fret slides etc. it always seems to work.

some of the best vocal tracks i've ever recorded. big and clear.

i love that i can roll off or boost if called for.

compresses well

i went thru a phaser phase. i have a mutron bi-phase and a foxx foot phaser but the eventide instant phaser is by far my favourite. it has such a familiar sound from all the records i grew up on. really, really thick and has the eventide envelope follower function which is absolutley brilliant. one ...
