Re: what is the story/history with the Joe Meek gear?

HB, Your opinion of this does not offend me, yet you have no knowledge of the inner workings of my relationship with Mr. Fletcher or his products, nor my contribution to FEL/Joemeek to comment either way. Are you an American or British? That may help me understand your comments a bit more. Anyway, I...

Re: what is the story/history with the Joe Meek gear?

The Joemeek company (Fletcher Electroacoustics Ltd) allowed Mr Hyatt to distribute the product in the Americas. He even suggested some ideas for products and did a fine job of marketing until 2001. As for the quality of my designs, as Alan so rightly says, it's all there to hear. This is an interes...

Re: what is the story/history with the Joe Meek gear?

Wait a minute. I thought the MC2 is an old TF design? Wasn't it an update of the orrigional C2 compressor? I bought a MC2 a couple of years ago, and I'm pretty sure it had the TF signature on it. So when you talk about coming out with the MC2 are you talking about a totally redesigned MC2? If so wh...

Re: what is the story/history with the Joe Meek gear?

I don't care who, when, where, or why made my 4 year old Joe Meek VC1Q, I love mine and have done some amazing vocal work with it! :) B. The old Meeks are very good. Just picture the same thing with added horsepower, so when you want more of that sound, you can get it... The issue I had with the ol...

Re: what is the story/history with the Joe Meek gear?

thanks Alan I didn't mean to infer that your products were not professional..it was just my impression..and my opinion..thanks for setting that straight How does the MC2 single comp compare with the sc2? what kind of changes are you making to the sc2? [or is it secret until you announce it?] Well, ...

Re: what is the story/history with the Joe Meek gear?

Hey Alan welcome to the tape-op board If the sc2 was so popular and everyone who has/had one raves about it why is it discontinued? It seems like the joemeek product line is aimed toward the semi-pro home market where you have a do-it-all-in-one type box...that's ok but what about the pro users? al...

Re: what is the story/history with the Joe Meek gear?

Nestle, You probably would not want the real compressor that Joe actually used. It is very noisey, unbalanced and while may have sounded good in 1970, it would not sound good today. Joe was very secret about his developments and methods of recording to the point of being paranoid. That is why he mov...

Re: what is the story/history with the Joe Meek gear?

Hey Guys...Maybe I can clear some points on this thread. I will try to keep it as short as I can. I was involved with Joemeek, the product from the beginning. Many of the models were my ideas. Ted Fletcher's relationship was only as a backup singer on a song or two that Joe Meek did. Ted Fletcher di...

Re: new compressor

Your a class act Slator...Bent out of hatred and revenge. You thrive to bash people when you can just because you think you are superior. When you find what you are looking for, you will find out that what you think you know about that thread is not what you thought. So you know, he put up a private...

Re: new compressor

rhythm ranch, well that sums it up to a gnats ass. Proof positive that the violations are real and do exist. Thanks for placing that there. I guess J Slator never read the Lanham act!!! If he did, it would be quite clear to him that all of it applies to what has taken place. Thank God J Slator is no...

Re: new compressor

I have nothing against you personally Steve, except that I feel your opinions are not those of the masses is all. We just disagree on your conclusions and opinions of what you write about. Other than that, I don't know you...I only have different opinions than you do. No law against that, is there S...

Re: new compressor

So Paul, the questions still linger...where is your business located? If not in Atlanta, then in Georgia somewhere. Please tell the good customers here where we can go to your location to see and hear this unit you claim is good. Surely you have a showroom of sort. Additionally, I would still like y...

Re: new compressor

It is an unfortunate situation for me, as I am sure it is for them, however the law is the law. Ruppert Neve can not use his name or designs as the ownership of his name and designs were sold to AMS. The situation here is the same. We purchased "all" of the Good Will, Intellectual Property rights, t...

Re: new compressor

Hello All...No the lawsuit is not settled yet. We are just now getting ready to serve the parties in the UK and the USA very soon. Again, if you all want Ted's TFPro unit, then by all means buy it. We have most of them to prove our court case. Many of the PC boards inside the unit still say Joemeek ...
