A cool way to integrate analog tape with your DAW

I came up with this system earlier this year when I acquired my first tape deck. A friend and I finally got around to making a video demonstrating the system this weekend. I posted on Gearslutz and thought I would share here too since I know there are a lot of guys here that love the sound of tape. ...

FS/FT: MCI tape deck manuals

I recently bought an MCI JH-110A 8-track. However, the manual I received was for the earlier 24V version and not the 18V version that I have. I also received a JH-10 transport manual that I have no use for. So I?d like to raise some money to help offset the cost of buying the correct manual from Ble...

After a few weeks off we're visiting this monster in the living room again. We shotgunned all of the ICs and sockets and the transport seems to be rock solid in all speeds. Now we're having trouble trying to get our tape recorder to record. Audio passes through when the channel is on Input. Nothing...

Well I obviously sold my API, so I can't do any A/B comparisons with the finished product. I had originally intended to make a 312-style preamp using Eisen Audio kits for my 500 rack. I ordered all the parts and built a prototype and did some A/B tests with my API 3124+. To my ears they were spot on...

That's my BravoTek 4-channel unit that I made for my studio, Little Red Wagon Studios! :D Jorge--feel free to use my name instead of "a client". I should point out that those pics were taken right before I finished the wiring. I used a JLM Audio power supply, Cinemag CMMI-8PCA input trannies, CMOQ-2...

Need roommate at Hilton June 7-11

My friend that I was planning to attend TapeOpCon with isn't able to make it. I have a room with two queen size beds reserved at the Hilton from Thursday, June 7 until Monday, June 11th. I reserved early so I was able to score the discounted $99 rate. I'd really like to find a roommate to split the ...
