Wow, just like a straight coil? Cool!

I felt that "Recording Techniques" was more appropriate. Didn't see your post there as I didn't look. Wasn't trying to steal your big moment.

Every knucklehead I've ever had on my crew has been broken of the over-under habit right quick. Fine for long cables that hang on the wall for weeks on end, but that crap has no place in live production. Except for a figure-eight when coiling feeder and multicore.

On the road!

I think Shudder to Think's Pony Express Record is the finest road trip record ever. I'm always hearing something new, and it's seriously fun to sing along to. It has gotten me across the country a few times with nary a moment of boredom.

Yours?

Live sound... Indeed. I love my i5 in the studio but live I often find myself putting it up, frowning, swapping in a 57, and smiling. If you are positioning the i5 as you would a 57, then you'll never like it. It takes some experimentation, but it's worth it. jt I've definitely seen that on snare, ...

I never use a bottom snare mic, but I almost always use a mic under the snare. fully aware that i'm wasting as much time as i felt you and i wasted on grammar.....but is that really necessary? everyone knows that the title, "snare bottom mic" means snare-bottom mic. ...but i'll make sure to do that...

Huh?

The SM57/58 are cardioid. The 441 is supercardioid.
