There are a shit load of bands out here so if you set up a good place and charge decent rates there's no reason why you wouldn't get any business. Eek. My ex had a degree in psychology and she ended up going to a temp agency. Probably not the best degree to have out here unless you have experience. ...

I have plenty more mistakes to make but:

Fixing mic cables instead of throwing them away. I have a few that work fine but I was using one to record a casual band practice and the damn thing cut my guitar mic out pretty much as soon as I walked away to start playing.

Is the band loud because everyone needs to hear themselves louder than everyone else? You can try reposition them to point their amps away from each other. Put amps up on chairs and get them pointed right at the players' heads.

What do you mean by "it doesn't work"? Doesn't pass signal at all?

Also, do you have your scope and amp plugged into different circuits? You could be creating a ground loop.

Curiously though, a doubling in power (watts) only equals approximately 3db increase in volume....so it really shouldn't be much louder than a 100 watt at all..at full power. Attenuated he's not even using a lot of that power... So while it's undoubtedly a loud amp, cranked it wouldn't be substanti...

. Those import bobbins are good for one thing: hum cancelling. I use a circuit that feeds one of those coils into a phase shift/filter circuit. That is inverted and fed into a cancellation circuit. It is adjusted using a small trim pot. That way I can tune out the hum electronically while still usi...

What are you guys seeing wrong with the new SGs? Mine seems pretty damn mint. I have seen a couple with very poor logo/inlay work, and a couple others with finish issues (orange peel, overspray, drips, etc.) and still a few others that just didn't "feel" right. I know that's a very personal thing, ...

It's all good Anthony... a little tongue in cheek every now and then to keep your posts "light". Now, here's an exercise I want you to try out : For every post containing more than 100 words that you post, I want you to write ONE song lyric, completely done. So, go back and do a word count on all y...

I guess that '50s neck isn't for everyone either. I read on other forums some people liked the thinner 60s profile and some liked the fatter 50s neck. I like the way the 50s neck feels in my hand. I can't stand thin necks like on the Ibanez RG series.

Idk, man. I have an '05 SG standard and I love it. Never played a vintage one so I don't know what I'd like better in that case but I do know an epiphone would not stand up to it. Do I think they are a little overpriced? Yeah I do. But I've never felt a better neck on any guitar and it's way lighter...
