Re: Don Caballero drum sound question...
Great Band!! I got to mix them a few weeks ago at the club where I work. They were all super nice guys..... EXCEPT for the fucking cock who plays drums. He's a great drummer. But, what a miserable drunk and complete asshole! He so obviously didn't want to be playing. He insulted to people who came o...

you shouldn't have to give them a complete song for free, just to prove what you can do.

An American indie-rocker's guide to Europe
So, my wifes work is sending her to Europe. After 30 days, we'll be asked to decide if we want to come home or stay there for 2 years. So, I'm gonna quit the day job and go with her. I've never been there. We'll be living in London somewhere. Any tips as far as record stores, venues, labels, etc??? ...

Re: MK 219, worth it?
I bought 2.
I use 1 for a talkback, and the other for a door stop.
I drag out the door stop for distorted guitars sometimes.
I didn't have any luck at all with mine on acoustic gtrs or drums.
probably a quality control issue.
good luck.
try it in the store.

Re: Mixing while high: does it work for you?
marijuana leads to harder drugs just as violent video games lead to homicide, just as viewing porn leads to rape, just as eating macaroni and cheese leads to a life of theft. pshhh.... Question for the good DOCTOR: you mention "drugs" and how dangerous that they can be. what is your medical opinion ...

Amen!! Mixing while high is just like mixing with a different set of monitors. If you're used to it, your mixes will translate!brian beattie wrote:If the mixes you make when you're high are no good, you're just not practicing enough.

Re: plug in compression vs real deal
First off the dsp cards are actually slower then modern cpus. Powercore and UAD cards are just a fancy form of copy protection. I would be surprised if the UAD card was even a 1 GHz CPU. http://www.oxygenhose.com/pages/reviews/plugwars/uad.html Bomb factory can run natively and I think they out do ...
