Anything that is getting sent out for mastering gets recorded at the higher rate. Then I send a "CD24" and a redbook version to the M.E. I've never had any issues with the converters. In fact I have about the same setup as you and the word converters never comes up at all....neither do words like "c...

I drool over the pre CBS Fender amps sometimes. If I had the$$ I would pull the trigger and justify it by telling myself that "yeah it's expensive as hell but in 20 years it will be worth even more" This is also a big reason I don't work in the box. A space echo will be worth a hell of a lot more in...

Headphone amp...Behringer will get it done cheap and really not all that bad. Comps... I like the VLA. The old ones are under $150 for 2 channels. Track through it then strap it across the 2bus...wtf! Effects are a can of worms that can get crazy....but the cheap Lexicon or TC stuff will get you by ...

I almost always start with fuzz or (whatever dirt) And end with delay...or sometimes a second type of modulation after the delay. But everything else is where the fun of mixing it up comes in. Putting something before or after something else can really mix things up. Especially when tracking special...

I doubt that having redco build a snake with pseudo balanced connections would be any more expensive than buying a cheap snake and a bunch of those $6 adapters. It would definitely be higher quality. Tons of adapters = tons of potential failures. I would look into the custom build for sure. Just gi...

I just use these to go from my M3500 to my Alesis HD24 and they sound fine. http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/CPR803/ If my HD24 had XLR instead of 1/4" I would get a bunch of these. http://www.redco.com/shopexd.asp?id=330 RCA to any balanced ends would be a custom build and most likely a LOT m...

The original point was...A modded mic cost about the same as a mic sent in to be modded(when all said and done) right? If it was a big difference I think people would call them out on it? One reason I might just get a mic and get the mod later is that I might like the mic just fine the way it is.......

+3 on the boomerang!
Stupid easy and smooth live.

The Boss VE20 is cool too.

I use the boomerang for guitar loops and the boss for vocal loops.

Get em both going and it's so cool that people run screaming from the club:)
