I see alot of people using them as a spaced pair in live settings. Never tried it myself....but I used a single SDC as an over head and a 414 as an over the shoulder omni mic. That sounded great.

I agree with the high pass filters for the guitars....unless they are tuned to a D or lower. Then you can lose alot of the "body" of the guitar. Try doing using a parametric eq and sweeping your guitar track with a narrow band cut with it and the bass solo'd and see if you can find where they are sh...

I've never tried them, but I know alot of people are really happy with their Cascade mics and they have this deal going on right now:

Worth looking into for $239.

I'm not sure how it is with the 003, but on a lot of interfaces the line in jack still runs through the same circuitry as the mic in jack. It's just padded down about 20dB or so. Yeah...that seems likely but I'm not sure. Using the XLR input makes the pre's a bit too hot to have much range...it's e...

I really like the KRK rokit 5's. I have a pair at home and do most of my mixing there, and when I've brought the mix to a studio or listened to it in a cd player I've found it to be a pretty accurate on all systems. Plus I picked them up for like $200 for the set. I would say they are a bit light on...

why do run your preamps into the preamps of the 003? Why not run them into the line ins? Can skip a gain stage that way. And yes, patchbays are super useful. Well I ran the ART into the pre amp because it just puts out a weak signal. I couldn't get a clean signal that was loud enough out of it. And...

Re: Signal Routing question w/ RNC/RNLA combo....ideas?

and option 4: Dude quit being cheap and get a patchbay.....it's the only way to go. :P Hehe. The only bummer is my snake is XLR....so I gotta get a cable snake with female XLR to male TS plugs (or should I go TRS). It can be pretty short....but thats probably another 50 bucks I gotta drop....plus m...

Good thing you can still use all firewire 400 devices with a 400/800 cable since the 800 still has all the original pins of the 400 in the input jack. It's a shame, I've always prefered firewire because it will bus power almost any hard drive. Alot of the USB drives require an aditional ac adapter.....

I'd go with B as well. As stated the sm7 is pretty stellar and versitle and the KM84's are super nice SDC's. Wish I had some cash to pick either up right now.

Signal Routing question w/ RNC/RNLA combo....ideas?

Hey everyone I just picked up a racked RNC/RNLA combo and I'm wondering what the most effective way to integrate into my system. Here's my home set up: I've got a 16 channel XLR/4 trs return stage snake that I run into my "control" room from my living room for drums, my back closet for vocals or som...

Most of the older Groove Tubes mics are now made under the Sterling Audio name as a Guitar Center/Musicians Friend exclusives. They kept most of the same mics and numbers. Like the GT55 is now the ST55.....creative lot eh. Now that I look on the Groove Tubes site it appears as thought the models tha...

Is this referring to my question on the TubeMP?

If so...I'm not bad with electronics, but I'm not sure how you'd raise the plate volume. Any how to advice?
