They've changed the rules on ebay recently, it is now extremely slanted in favor of the buyer and a real pain in the ass for sellers. Just make sure any potential sellers you're interested in have a decent amount of solid feeback before you buy and you should be ok. I'll keep an eye out and post a l...

You should be able to score a used reissue unit in the 250 -350 range. My buddy just unloaded an original brown '62 chassis in a repro box for 4 bills minus the tank, tanks can be had for forty beans or so. I A/B'd my reissue against the brown after I rebuilt his (caps etc) and they were extremely c...

I have three Gemini 1's, a '64,'65 and a '66. The '64 has octal preamp types, the '65 and '66 have the usual nine pin type. Never had an issue with microphonic tubes except for the '64, the old octal preamp types can be problematic. I wouldn't run anything but American glass in any of my Ampegs, I h...

I've done this job. What you have with that Leslie is basically a Fender Vibrolux in the making. No amp in the Vibrolux, and no need for that Leslie unit. I've put them in their own cabinets and fed them with the aux speaker out of another amp. Give it a 110v feed to drive the motor and you're all ...

You run the verb wide open? Some hum (at that level) would be normal, best way to minimize this is with a good NOS recovery tube (GE/RCA/SYL etc) and make sure that the cables are making good contact with the RCA jacks. I like a "splash" of reverb (2-2.5), any more than that and you better b...

Re: Fender gtr amp "Ext. Speaker" output question

I have a '74 Fender Princeton Reverb, it's not super loud so I was wondering about this... there's a 1/4 inch output that says "Ext. Speaker" on the back. Someone once explained this to me but I don't remember exactly except that he said there were certain things you should and shouldn't plug it in...
