I think it might have something to do with more recordists coming up who haven't been in a lot of different situations with a lot of different gear. If you use a lot of different stuff it is easier to say "Hey I really like this one". As it is people are relying more and more on verbal descriptions ...

All of his albums have some real jewels on them. As much as I love the Stones, and love Ronnie with the Stones, I would really like to visit the alternate universe were Woody released a couple dozen solo albums.

I listened to the Page disc again this weekend, it still floors me. I love the music, but the SOUND just floors me. Honestly by the time I've heard the first five seconds of the first track I'm grinning.
