I just put one together for my band where I created a five minute medley out of about 7 or 8 different songs. We wanted to give an idea of our range of sounds, but knew that no one was going to listen to 7 or 8 songs.

I think with the time aligning, short of fixing actual problems, you're really just playing with texture vs. focus. It sounds to me like you may prefer the latter to the former. I would think that it depends on whether or not you like the sound of the drums in the room. If you do then go with it, if you don?t then try to get rid of the sound of the room. Hanging the sheets like you mentioned would be a good start.

I used to think that too, but I've found that if you add it before you get going and mix through it rather than trying to strap it on near the end of the mix it works out MUCH better.
