There's something mixed up about your story or theirs. First he's saying that USPS said it was delivered. Then he's saying that he doesn't have the money for shipping? Having the money for shipping wouldn't be an issue if it's supposedly been delivered... If the guy hasn't responded to you and you m...

I guess I'm not clear on what it is you want to learn?

But whatever that is...find someone that's already doing that...and try to spend some time "assisting" them. Or maybe have a band come in to be your guinea pigs and learn on your own.

I don't own one so I don't know what the editor is capable of..but if it doesn't do what you want easily it makes more sense to use PT or something like that. The reason you get pops is because youneed a slight fade in the front of the sample, like an attack envelope. I would think that if you didn'...

Sounds like bull to me..most mics can handle pretty high SPLs without permanently damaging them (ribbons would be the exception). Even before that point audible distortion would be a problem first if it doesn't have enough headroom. You would have to hit some serious SPLs (above the threshold of pai...

I recently was considering getting a 003 and having it modded. IMHO I think your money is better spent on real outboard converters if that's what you want, because while the 003 might be part of your setup today, if you move on another platform or to HD the BLA mods are worthless, while good outboar...

Not trying to knock you down but I have a Nord Micro and tried to get rid of it awhile back...couldn't get even $300 for it...so I built a true bypass effects loop switch for my pedal board and made all kinds of crazy patches so now it sits in my guitar rig. Very cool box but GL getting $500...I'd b...

I too would be curious as to what's decent in a modest price range...I have a hard time choking on $5k for a "budget" board...what's the price barrier (used) between "junk" and "budget pro".

The SATA caddy is made by Magic Sound...link can be found on the HD24Tools site. It's out of stock right now, but I plan on ordering a couple, I reserved them. I also ordered 2 of the Seagate IDE drives from Newegg posted above to try. Wow...that's cool that somebody actually started making these. ...

That's funny because the guy I bought it from specifically said not to use Seagates with it...but he was using Maxtors...which aren't they the same company as Seagate? I have had too many Maxtor drives fail to be comfortable with them...I might go with a pair of Seagates for the IDE drives and then ...

Wow what a deal! $450 for the head and $450 for the cabinet separately, or together for $1000!

Um can I buy them separately because I want to save $100?

:-)

I'm not really interested in them I just wanted to give you a hard time.

Just bought an HD24XR, need help with choosing hard drives

Hey found a HD24XR cheap (among other things) from a studio closing and picked it up. The guy took his drives with him (he did boot it up and show it works) but left the empty caddies. So I understand that this takes regular old IDE drives, but I also understand that this thing is picky. I'd like to...

Thanks I found a good deal on an HD24XR (and lots of good mics, other goodies too for very cheap...spending about $2000 for $5800 worth of gear) that I'm buying tomorrow...same guy has a Mix Plus system with 3 888s, et cetera for $1500 (studio closing) but I think the HD24XR is probably a better dea...

I would suggest against a system with integrated graphics...and I also think that many prebuilt PCs are junk...cheap components = imminent failure...hard drive, power supply, motherboard... Especially the very low end systems like that..who knows what's in it to cut corners? I'd say at best the inte...

Uh...yeah... When I want to rent a studio I really only want it for the things I don't have... Good rooms, good mics, good pres/console....in that order. Not really interested in headphone brand or plugins, especially likely stolen plugins. And I'd probably say that renting out a room in your home, ...
