Problem with Adam S3A

One of my monitors is acting up. When soling some stuff the other day, a buddy and I noticed the output from my left monitor was noticibly quieter than the right. I ran some tones through each yesterday and confirmed it, along with switching ouput channels to each, switching cables, and anything els...

Web Audio Grabber

In the previous issue before the current one I recall Larry or Andy listed some information on a software utility that lets you grab audio from the web (Youtube, etc.). I've found a few that get both audio and video, but I don't need the video. I don't have the issue handy, so anyone know what was r...

You could do it with a Digi 002/002R/003. The stock unit would give you 8 ins and 8 outs. To get four more you'd need to get some type of ADAT based converter box and connect in to the ADAT ports on the Digi box (Alesis AI-3, Fronteir Tango 24, an old ADAT deck, etc.). If you're not married to using...

I may, I have some old JH-110 cards that came with a 2-track machine I've got. Send me a picture of your card and I'll see if it mathes.

I had mine rebuilt by Amp Services in Florida. Check them out if you still need it.

These guys are selling tape: http://www.atrtape.com/ You don't need to demag very often if you're not running you machine much; but when you do, use a Han-dimag. These guys have them, along with MRL tapes for calibration and head cleaning supplies: http://usrecordingmedia-store.stores.yahoo.net/hand...

You don't. Go to the I/O setup window and check that the S/PDIF ouput is assigned to ouputes 17/18. Then assign tracks to outputs 17/18 and you should get those going out your S/PDIF output. I'm running an earlier version of PTLE (6.9.x) and in that version you can check a box somewhere that says "e...

Try assigning it to outputs 17/18. Those work for me. For whatever reason, I've never had any luck with the S/PDIF output mirroring analog outputs 1/2.

Re: Need Help with my signal path...

Without the PB I was gonna wire it up like this Mic--Mic Pre--Direct out to Digi001 input--Digi 001 output to Console Tape IN--Stereo L/R Out to mixdown (for now my computer via Digi 001) Then throw the Delay and reverbs on the Aux sends and the Comps and EQ on the inserts or maybe a group insert o...

You can use a 3" hole saw to cut a neat hole in both sides of the wall, then slather up a piece of 3" pvc with caulk and jam it through. Let about 3" protrude on either side, and thoroughly caulk seal both gaps where it pierces the wall. The tube can be filled with a length of pipe insulation and c...

Not familiar with the Tascam. Does it have S/PDIF inputs and outputs? Going into the Tascam, you'll want an A-D converter. If you want to come back out, you'll need D-A; though in each case, the S/PDIF connectors are likely to only get you two channels. I could see wanting some better converters goi...
