Re: Powered Monitors..... ????

In defense of the Behringer powered monitors...it is probably the best product Behringer sells, and they do provide some decent options for tweaking them to your room. Of course, they are NOT going to sound like Genelecs, Adams, or Earthworks, but hell...they're $300 for a pair. If it's just a proje...

Small studio in N.H. & Vermont - The Frozen Studio

Howdy...I'm looking to do some on location recording in New Hampshire, Vermont, and western Massachusetts. I don't have a recording studio, but have some decent equipment and mics and am willing to drive a little bit to come to you. If you're interested, check out http://www.frozenstudio.com and ema...

Re: Best Bands of all time...that people know of!

Am I the first to mention the Beach Boys? OK, so you've gotta allow them that one major mishap known as Kokomo (without Brian Wilson, I might add), but otherwise, there's some beautiful stuff in there. Hell, I even love their stuff all through the 70's, and Dennis Wilson's solo album is incredible.

High on life, and on basketball, and on being tall...but alas, not on anything else. He was exceptionally mellow, though.
It's time for a comeback, Chief.

Re: Name Dropping thread

OK, not sure if this even qualifies, but after a Wilco show in Virginia Beach once, the drummer (Ken something?) used my back to rest posters on so he could autograph them. Also, a homeless guy looking for a cigarette waltzed onto to their tour bus, and he never left it for the entire evening. Cool ...

Re: P & J basses... Mexican (MIM)... what's the differen

I've played bass for a long time, and stuck mostly with Fenders. Currently I've got a MIM P-bass, and I put in a Fender Vintage '62 pickup in it. I noticed that the wiring wasn't shielded when I put the pickup in, which explains why most MIM basses are a little bit noisier. The soldering wasn't that...

Re: OK so whats the song you're most ashamed to admit you Lo

Will someone call the AOL billing help line and tell me what that synthy pop tune is they play while waiting for a customer service rep? The second I heard it I loved it, and by the third second, I was ashamed I loved it. Also, Ice Ice Baby - not for the novelty of it, but because it's a badass song.

Had the Behry tube EQ...replaced the tubes also (with groove tubes). Definitely gave it some warmth and character. Not a bad unit once I did that, for the right purpose...

Re: Oktava mk319 as a bass drum mic?

Yeah, I was thinking about the 219 on the snare, too. Seemed like it might be a decent alternative to the 57, but who knows...
