What I've been doing when the need for a DAW comes into play is tracking everything into the Radar, and then exporting the project to a usb 2 drive as wav files, plugging that into a mac, copy files across to the mac, and mixing in DAW of choice (Logic/Protools).

Are you looking for real time?

I fly with microphones and electronics a fair bit (imagine that). Here's my tips for a smooth flight: I have a pelican case that everything is packed in. If it all possible, take the stuff in a carry on. If you check it, it's likely to be looked through, and they will not repack it with the care tha...

I would say yes, it's worth checking out.

With the center tap grounded, you have path for current to flow, which is going to accentuate any potential issues a great deal.

Thanks Wil, I've been obviously slacking and not following this thread :D So it's been a few years since I made the video, and there are a couple things I've come across that I should mention. Firstly, there are some ribbon mics out there that have a grounded center tap configuration on the ribbon o...

The question that springs to mind is are you sure it's the head stack that is the problem? JRF does great work, but there are electronics, felts, and tape tension to be considered as well. My experience has been that space echos can sometimes be finicky that way. Just sayin it would be a shame to sp...

Mackie MDR/HDR 24 track

Hey there, I have a Mackie 24 track up for sale, details as follows: It started its life as an MDR24, and has been upgraded to an HDR24. New roms were installed to run the HDR24 code, a video card was added, as well as the bios upgrade to support larger hard disk capacity. So in effect, you can hook...

The M130 should be slightly lower output than an SM57 (1.3 mV/Pa for the M130 vs. 1.6 mV/Pa for the 57). If you have one mic pre that sounds good with the microphone, and another that is noisy, I would say that is a function of the mic pre ( many mic pre's can get noisy at the upper range of their g...

API 500 VPR rack

Hey,

I have a 10 space API VPR rack with external power supply for sale.

Has a scratch on the top, cosmetically perfect once racked. Purchased new from Mercenary Audio.

$650 shipped in the US.

Looking for a Sennheiser 441, or an AKG D12 if you've got one for trade.

Regards

First up, do you know that the amp is functioning properly now? If it isn't, that could be part of your problem. Either have someone check it out, or try to find another champ (local store, local musician) that you can play so you can determine this. If it's working properly, and it's not your thing...
