When I do that then none of the logic track controls work properly.

Yeah, I've tried messing with the little mixing board that controls the audiofire and I can mute the input through that but then I can't hear it through logic at all.

I'm running Logic 8 on a macbook pro through an Echo Audiofire 8. This is a new system for me so it could be something really simple that I am overlooking. Damn Boss pedals. I think I now have 3 of them with unreliable switches that don't like to always turn on or off when you step on em. Especially lame is when I go to take a guitar solo and my Metal Zone doesn't turn on with the first click. Turns what should be a guitar solo into a tap dancing solo....

I'm using protools LE on a mac and I'd like to check some mixes against some of my favorite cd's.
So what's the proper procedure for getting the cd into the session ?
Its gotta be stupidly simple.

Excellent. I think this thing sounds pretty cool on bass. I've yet to try it out on kick drum yet but by all accounts it works well there too.
