Re: Do you really have to spend big $$$$ to get good monitor
I origionally wondered why not use a set of stereo speakers because that's what you end up listening to the music on. Do you really have to spend big $$$$ to get good monitors??
Do you really need to spend big $$$$ to get decent/good monitors? I'm trying to find out what I need to know to make a good but smart purchase. Guitar center only has so many to listen through... and they want you to buy the expensive ones. Opinions??

Re: coiled cables?
It's not a noise issue, it's a capacitance issue. The argument is that coiling the cables creates capacitance and this effects things. Does ir? Well I couldn't tell ya.

What's the deal with that plastic thing? It's for high end? Won't removing it get rid of high end? Wouldn't that be degrading the mic?jc wrote:you can clip away at the grill and take off the plastic HF extender and make it pretty useable.

It can't be said enough... YOU NEED TO TRY SEVERAL TO WEED OUT THE BAD ONES! I tried 6 out at once and found one reall bad dud, and one fair one... the rest sounded great. They do seem to sound great on vocals, but I havn't tried acoustic guitars, percussions, etc. yet.
