Bellari RP 503 have audio transformers? Any Good?
Hello, I have the option of picking up a Bellari RP503 for $100. Does anyone know if they have audio transformers in them or is this a transformerless design? Anyone have any experiance with this unit? Is it a waste of money? Thanks so much!

Re: Recapping a console?
It's also avisable that you take great care in not overheating any traces you are soldering (or desoldering) on the circuit board. If you do, the trace will lift right off the circuitboard! This can happen if you use a iron set too hot, or by holding an iron too long at the trace.

Re: Transients and XY OH??
Thanks, the XY is along the lines of what I was thinking. As for Transients, this seems more complex. Would transients refer to, say, a kick drum signal or the "P" in p-words as someone is singing or speaking into a mike with no windscreen? Anotherwords, sound sorces that are quick but powerfull? PS...

Re: Marantz 4-Trackerz
I absolutely LOVE mine! I've had it since 1995. I do these recordings on it that people cannot believe are just a "4 track" recording. The quality seems better then anything Tascam or Fostex or Yamah I've ever messed with. I'm not an expert on 4 trcks, but I do believe this one to be the best. The s...

Re: Best headphones for tracking REALLY Loud Guitar Amps STA
i have the sennheisers too and don't really care for them when i need isolation. they also have no bottom like the akg's, if that matters... Sennheiser and AKG don't have much bottom? I've think I've heard this befor. Do the Vic Firth have bottom? If not, what does that might have som isolation?

All very good ideas. How much do the Sennhieser and Vic Firth cost? Maybe I will just make a choice and be done with it.

Re: Best headphones for tracking REALLY Loud Guitar Amps STA
Of the three mentioned here ( Metrophones, Extreme Isolation, and Vic Firth), which of these would have the best fidelity for flexability in tracking quieter tracks such as vocals, acoustic guitar, etc.?

Re: Universal Audio Tube Mic Preamp
I'm into rock. I like the idea of having a mic pre that is usable from somewhat transparent, to saturated... but not like a guitar distortion pedal. I like musical inperfections sometimes. Adds character.

Universal Audio Tube Mic Preamp
Hi all, I have been posting and reading up on tube mic preamps here and elsewhere... I hear many suggestions and experiences, but never seem to hear anything about the Universal Audio 610 (I think that's the model #). Aren't these any good? Supposedly Doors, Frank Sinatra, Beach Boys, Van Halen, etc...

Best headphones for tracking REALLY Loud Guitar Amps STACKS?
What would be good headphones for recording really loud guitar amps like a Marshall plexi stack turned up to 10? Am I correct in looking for good isolation to hear what's coming through the headphoned while in front of this beast? I ask because I often need to get the dynamics you get while standing...
