Wow....they've become much more expansive, and I really dig the psychedelic guitar workouts. Very cool.

Again, thanks for the tips..... Fox -- that's fascinating....gonna try it. Ok....quickly put together a couple of mp3's of a couple of this guy's songs ....I actually like the songwriting quite bit. His guitar playing is not as polished as one might be used to, but again, I kind of like that, too. H...

Thanks much, all...... I'd considered the figure 8 method, but alas, I have no mic with that pattern. Maybe it's time to replenish the mic locker a tad, eh? That sounds like a proven method, however -- I've read about it frequently. The mic's pointing downward --- hmmm, seems obvious, yet it eluded ...

Mic'ing Folk Singer with Guitar.....How Do I Get Separation?

Hey.... So I'm recording this folk singer -- I'm pretty stoked about these sessions as he's really damn good -- and I'm trying different mic set-ups. Basically, he's sitting in a chair singing and playing -- no overdubs. I've got an ADK tc tube mic for the vocal, and an Oktava mc-012 and Shure sm-27...

My wireless mouse......Seriously......got tired of wheeling across the room to fiddle with the computer, etc. Oh, what about tapes? Ok....then my remote for my Tascam 34b..... Hey, anything that allows you to play and get into the moment without having to get up and do this/that.....that's useful.

Shawn Phillips....Seriously!

Hey.... I know...I know....hippie dippie...whatever.... I dig it....big time....the voice (that falsetto !! ) ...the songs....hey -- they're not as "aged" as much of the material from that era (early 70's). But...why I'm posting to begin with -- the production !! Wow......I have a fairly decent syst...

Amazon's got this for like $12.00......I just might have to do it. Not that I need any encouraging to get a new (or unheard by me) Donovan release, but tell me why this is the be-all.....I have his 60's classics, as well as Cosmic Wheels, and the newer Beat Cafe. Does this one get trippy in the way ...

Kelly Stoltz ...... His entire discography was tracked to his 388 -- some of the most incredibly cool mixed stuff I've heard in a long, long while. His latest CD "Crockodials" is a faithful (mostly, but when not.....fabulous) re-telling of Echo and the Bunnymen's Crocodiles 1980. His other stuff is ...

RNP and RNC For Sale, among other things.....!!!

Yes, I'm actually selling my venerable FMR Audio RNP as I've found that since I built my Hamptone Tube Pre I just don't use it as much anymore. I'm trying to eliminate redundancy in the studio and at the same time amass a small mountain of $$ so that I can get Scott's JFET pre next. I think many of ...
