SMTPE TC ranges from 1.92k to 4.8k. There may be a band-pass filter on that channel to help minimize errors, so be aware of that if you decide to try putting audio there.

I've had an 825 for about 3 years that I got for $200. But it didn't have the combo preamp. It needed some maintenance as it had been in storage for 20 years in the back of music shop. I had to oil the motor and adjust the tension on the drive belt to get it to switch speeds properly. I ended up add...

An interface includes the "interface" circuitry that allows your recording software to connect to it, via firewire, USB, PCI card with SPDIF/ADAT inputs, etc. There's really no way to connect a standalone AD converter to your computer unless you have an interface. Most standalone AD converters have ...

Don't most of these recorders have an 1/8" external mic input jack? Plug the Dry Case's headphone jack extension into the Zoom's external mic input and use a waterproof lavaliere mic, something like the Countryman B6. Or maybe a waterproof stereo mic of some sort. You wouldn't be able to monitor wit...

After shipping and getting the nut installed, it would run about $220 Did you include the finish in that, or are you going to finish it yourself? I've got a Warmoth jazz neck on my P-Bass, with the narrower width at the nut (1.5"). It's a great neck, just too narrow for my gigantic hands, so I've b...

I took my yearly shower this week. Unfortunately, my bass playing has suffered as a result. Guess I'm just not as funky as before.

I assumed since Duty Cycle was mentioned, it would be a square wave, not a sine. I read some about what you referred to (using mains frequency) and I think it's the same general idea, but with a twist or two... Here's the page from the manual. It's all I really have to go on. What isn't clear is am...

A couple of resistors, but if you don't want to DIY, then no, you're probably not going to find anything cheaper than $80. At least nothing that I would want to run mixes through for reference.

nate and squizo: the 20v secondary winding is used because you're taking 20v AC and needing to filter it to 6.3v DC . You're right. I totally blanked there for a second. However, you'll have no problem with the Antek transformer. It has dual 6.3VAC @ 2A windings. Just wire them in series to get 12....

if it's crackling during loud strumming, it's probably the battery. is the bridge pickup passive? does it exhibit the same symptoms? that will narrow it down.

I don't think the 600:600 tamuras are going to do what you want here. If you truly need to covert high impedance to low, you'll need a stepdown transformer. Maybe something like these edcor 15k:600 matchers.

which schematic are you looking at? This one?: http://www.compasspointstudios.com/bulldog/page1/files/page1-1008-full.jpg C1 and C4 are the only polarized caps I see, and they're both showing the negative leg to ground (in the case of C1, through a switch). Not sure what the issue is here. The littl...
