Re: Getting Booked.
But since we havent even play "out" yet. I don't really have much to offer. I'm just assuming that my recordings will be ok. I also don't think there is anything worse then attempting to describe our music.

Getting Booked.
I have a question and this is the best place for answers so.. Our band is ready to get out into the Baltimore scene, but I have never done this before. Right now I'm just E-mailing the booking person at random clubs. Sending them a very professional email with direct links to our Mp3's so their is n...

Re: Recording everyone at once (in a small space)
I think it sounds more like the front head ringing. But I dont have any experiance with drum tuning. I will check that out though.

Re: Recording everyone at once (in a small space)
Well the carvin r-1000 bass amp has a decent compresser/limiter built in, and I usually use that. Oh and I just remembered. The drummer has a nice kit and his bass drum sounds really nice. But the mic picks up a really unpleasent ring after each kick. I have never noticed it while playing only with ...

Re: Recording everyone at once (in a small space)
Thanks for all of the advice, hopefully I can put it to use this wednsday. Fridays sessions was interupted by some lady trying to sell us on this show at her church. We spent more time setting up and running through songs, then actually recording. I did get a song or two recorded with blankets over ...

Re: Recording everyone at once (in a small space)
thanks a lot. Sounds like what I'm think about doing. The overhead is going to pick up EVERYTHING like a room mic would. It's a small room. No baffels and we are loud. I'm going to try to get everyone to turn it down a notch. But the drumer is use to hitting hard.

Recording everyone at once (in a small space)
My band has come to realize that if we don't get out of the basement soon we never will. So the plan is to record our set today on 8 tracks. We have 2 guitars, a bass, and drums. I have a sm57, beta52, SP B3, Samson C01, and two other cheap dynamic mics. One problem i have is limited mic stands. I o...

The strokes. Drum machine. It's not. But It really does sound like it sometimes doesn't it. Is that becuase it's super compressed with fast attack and release times?

Re: Why does the White Stripes "Elephant" suck?
I guess I will be the first to say it. I Don't like it. Somthing about them bothers me... but I admit that there 1st single off elephant is catchy and I like the video. The more I hear the songs the more I can DEAL with them. The songs are cute, but that's about it. The CD itself is just REALLY bori...

Re: Favorite bass guitar
Peavey T-20! A perfect polished turd. Sounds great. ALWAYS! Plays great ALWAYS! Noise and hum ALWAYS! I love it. An old folded licence holds up the pickup. Just give her a good slap on the back if you push the pickup down to far. Just make sure to turn off all the lights and TVs before you turn it up.
